Other events, 2021 - week 46


Israel, J3:

Matt Rankin and Louis Bowden both won their R1 matches (in singles and dubs) 

 

UAE, J4:

Freddie Ridout (seeded 5) lost in R1

But Zach Stephens beat the 3rd seed, 0 & 4

 

Guatemala, J4:

Wil Jenkins (seeded 5) lost in R1

Jaquelyn Ogunwale is in the girls R1

 

Korea, J4:

Connor Hegarty lost in R1

 

Nigeria, J5:

Tom Chapman and Mukhtar Andu are in R1

Israel, J3:

Matt Rankin won his R2 singles, but Louis Bowden lost his.

Together they won their doubles R1.


UAE, J4:

Zach Stephens won his R2 match


Guatemala, J4:

Jaquelyn Ogunwale got one of her best wins recently, beating the 6th seed in three sets in R1

Both she+ and Wil+ won their R1 doubles.


Nigeria, J5:

Tom Chapman and Mukhtar Andu both won in R1

Matt Rankin (2004) continuing his fine form of late, winning his QF in two sets, putting out the 3rd seed.

Louis and Matt are also into the final of the doubles


UAE, J4:

Great match from Zach Stephens (2006) who is unseeded but beat the 6th seed in 3 sets and is into the SFs.


Guatemala, J4:

Jaquelyn Ogunwale lost her singles QF but she is into the final of the doubles

Wil Jenkins+ lost their dubs SF



Nigeria, J5:

Tom Chapman lost his R2.

But Mukhtar Andu won

 Fair point, I reckon, CD!!! I just wanted to complete the circle!!

Too many players this week to catch up with what is going on across pros and juniors - your Friday feeling updates give me a sense of direction in the week!

Well done to Matt and Louis - a dubs title at J3 level is a nice entry for the palmares  

And good luck to Matt tomorrow in the singles - he's the better ranked player - fingers crossed

 Matts 9th title of the season , maybe 10 tomorrow. Only Alfie Hewett beating him overall.

He lost his doubles SF, though, in a MTB

 Definitely. He should comfortably be in the top 100, once all the 2003ers drop out. I make it around early 80s from January next year. Which I guess makes it easier to get into the higher level tournaments.
