 After taking the first set over No. 12 Natan Rodrigues and Fabien Salle of Louisville, the Cardinals duo won the second set to force a tiebreaker. Murgett and Dobai ultimately dropped the close tiebreaker to fall 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8) in the match and conclude their run for the title.

Stanford men's tennis closed its campaign at the NCAA singles and doubles championships at the USTA National Campus, coming home with a pair of All-Americans in Arthur Fery and Nishesh Basavareddy. The team ends the season at No. 18 in the ITA rankings.

Fery, the No. 3 seed, reached the quarterfinals of the singles draw with wins over No. 31 Emile Hudd (Tennessee), No. 46 Noah Schachter (Texas A&M) and No. 13 Liam Draxl (Kentucky), the last of which was a rematch from Fery's win in the NCAA Super Regionals in Lexington. Fery fell in the quarterfinals to No. 42 Murphy Cassone (Arizona State). Fery was guaranteed an All-America selection with his national seed, the second year in a row he has earned the honor.

Fery and Basavareddy also participated in the doubles event, opening with a win over No. 8 Ryan Goetz/Inaki Montes de la Torre (Virginia) in three sets before dropping a round of 16 battle to Pepperdine's No. 63 duo of Daniel de Jonge and Tim Zeitvogel.

I really thought that when the match went indoors it would favour Amelia with her more powerful game. But credit to Sleeth she kept making her play the extra ball . But great tournament and great year for Amelia at NC State.

So both Brits thwarted by Layne Sleeth. As for Angelica she lost only 3 matches since January - against the 2 NCAA finalists Sleeth and Tian and against the semi finalist Sieg. 

interested to see their year end NCAA rankings. Hope the LTA supports them both this summer !

Great effort by Millie.

Sleeth was WTA top 550 or so. She's a very good player.

I didn't see the match. But that's a really close score.

I see Millie's name is down on the Surbiton list.

As said, really looking forward to seeing her (and some of the others) in the UK this summer.

Rajecki falls in 3 sets in the NCAA Singles Semifinal.

This season she shattered the record for most single-season wins in singles (40), which was previously set in 2011 at 33. Her match in the semifinal today was the first-ever NCSU WTen feature in the Singles Final

 

I didn't realise that - that's an amazing season, Millie smile

I caught bits of it. She served for the first set but made some nervy errors. Big serve, good one-two punch - looks to have a pretty good game for grass, in fact.

French Open: In 2023, 21 players with college ties make up the mens and womens singles draw with 16 mens players in the mens singles draw and five womens players in the womens singles draw.

Look out for the  mixed doubles draw where collegians could be making up many of the teams.

Francisco Cerundolo (23) (South Carolina), Cameron Norrie (14) (TCU), and Ben Shelton (30) (Florida) all enter the French Open as seeded players with Norrie being the highest-ranked and seeded collegian in the draw.
