Weeks 35 & 36 - US Open, Flushing Meadows, New York City (hard)

I also think its worth raising the fact that Emma's last two years have been so entirely atypical for a junior transitioning. She's spent a record low amount of time hanging around in airport departure lounges, or cooped up in a strange hotel for 6 days after losing in round one; and presumably, A levels aside, spent proportionally far more time than typical just doing hitting drills.

Apart from a couple of match points in earlier rounds, when she had a rush of blood to the head, I find it hard to remember a single occasion where she was given a target, and missed it. The precision was uncanny - close to perfect, which suggests an awful lot of practice.

The one occasion where she did have a chance to play in a tournament was also atypical - the Battle of the Brits giving her some court time with world class players, which is very unlikely to happen to a new player, ranked in the 300s. So, a slim sliver of kudos to Jamie Murray, perhaps.

When I said 'Indy and stat guys', I wasn't meaning your predictions, Indy though they're pretty good!!!
I meant, your mega maths and logic analysis of how all these things work or can be distorted

No, my post wasn't at all with regard to you mentioning me but was indeed meant to be with regard to the generality of calling out young players ( while mentioning some of my calls ). We're basically on the same page.

Its funny how Fernandez was dropped for potentially being too small.
I thought some people might find it interesting.
Here are the list of womens Grand Slam champions since 2015 along with their height.
In no particular order

Ostapenko 57
Swiatek 59
Krejcikova 510
Penneta 58
Stephens 57
Andreescu 57
Osaka 511
Serena 59
Muguruza 511
Kerber 58
Halap 56
Barty 55
Li Na 58
Wozniaki 59
Kenin 57

Our very own Radders 59

Average height 5 foot 8

What surprises me most on that list is that Naomi is 5ft 11. I hadn't realised she was that tall.

Not definitive re the comparison ( maybe Naomi is partly kneeling before Serena! ) but an interesting picture. I think you can find quite a variation in quotes of players' supposed heights.

Emma is 175cm and Leylah is 168cm (according to official sites)

168cm the same as halap which converts to 5 foot 6 inches

Yes Indiana great photo. Also two players who sometimes have big hair. So maybe heights taken to the top of the haircuts. I just googled it on the Internet and as you all know everything on the Internet is accurate. Isnt it??
