Now Jodie, DON'T dwell on having had a MP. Win this !

Is this tiebreak to 7 or 10? It's usually 7

Great match point, but unfortunately goes the other way. Did Jodie choke this win away or did her opponent play well to get it back?

Its not an MTB, just a final set tie break, so normal 7. And Jodie lost sadly.

From the posts it didn't sound like a choke (I hope)

Down to 3 women left in. Katie on top but stumbling a little just now.

Jodie gets herself into an early hole at 1-4* down, and despite a real battle to get straight back on serve at *3-4 she just can't get level.

Loses it 3-6 6-4 7-6(4)

Absolutely gutted for her. So close. It didn't feel like the sort of self-combustion we have seen a lot, more just that the match was always on a tipping point and it didn't take much to swing away from her. Of course it will hurt like hell as she could have won it, but she should be proud of her two matches here, this one wasn't altogether self-inflicted.

Credit to Voegele. Very experienced, she didn't panic at 0-3 down, kept it sensible, low risk, deep and went for the winners that were on the cards. The lob to win it was gorgeous.

Katie broken serving for the match at *5-2. Misses a match point at *5-4. It's all very Jeremy Bates tentative, and Diatchenko is swinging away merrily.

Harriet *5-4 but broken. 5-5*

Pretty miserable couple of minutes.

Thanks, so normal tiebreak in qualies. So it's in the main draw that the players use a tiebreaker to 10 in the event of a 6-6 tie. Maybe its AO

Do they? Or first to seven as normal? isnt that what a 12 point tie break is? Ie. 6 all and then two clear ?

 I think it's another slam that does the 10 point tiebreak at 6-6. Anyway , it's  to 7 . Confused.com

Two games from Katie that it would be generous to describe as garbage and she's utterly blown it. I was more focused on Jodie but every point I saw from *5-2 was either pit pat and watch a winner sail past her, or a massive error.

6-2 5-7 0-0*

Regroup and storm this now please.

Harriet *6-5

Normal first to 7 with 2 point lead in US Open MD as well.

The 4 Slams manage to have 4 different final set TB procedures

Thanks for the report Paul. Voegele was always going to be quids in when it got tight, esp when Jodie struggles in the circumstaces. Sports psychology at some point surely.
