I doubt Jamie's poor showing at the Olympics has helped (with Andy). Been no further than R2 - in 2008. Both Joe and Neal have shown far more form than Jamie this year overall. That said, I'm not sure I would've picked Andy either.
Yep, selection seems fair enough to me (I think Jamie's comments are fine though, disappointed, doesn't agree but accepts someone might have different opinion).
Joe was #10 at time of cut off. And I'm guessing he put in he would prefer Andy.
Funny that Andy tweeted he wasn't keeping anyone out of the team when he was keeping out his own brother (he must have been talking about singles).
There were a lot of posts about knocking off Cam from selection, coming right of the back of Cam's loss in the Queen's final & his best season to date. He was very in spotlight and you would rightly wonder why there was no Cam. Less posts about no Jamie (I don't remember seeing any).
I understood that Cam preferred to concentrate on the tour and his ranking.
He had a target this year of top 30 and has a geeat chance of that.
Yes but a) he had previously said he would like to play the Olympics and b) has been playing really well. No wonder the general public (and even myself as a fan of Cam) wondered why he wasn't announced as part of the team before he released his statement (which I totally understand). It's no wonder Andy was rebutting things on social media.

Maybe he changed his mind on that. Anyway, I thought he'd given indications well before the team was announced ( quite apart from any much more recent statement ) that he preferred to concentrate on the tour, to the extent that I wasn't expecting to see him picked. If indeed he had made this absolutely clear to the powers that be then no point in announcing him in the team just to replace him.

I am sure we all commented when he entered Los Cabos that he clearly wasnt playing the Tokyo event and I was therefore not at all surprised to not see him, indeed it just confirmed it
Cam of course is not alone in not playing and wanting to focus on the US season. With his ranking at 32 now, a solid US run will secure that seeding for New York, indeed some good results could turn that into a top 20 ranking perhaps. Massive part of the season for Cam and I wish him well.
Dan of course will feel this is a last opportunity to play Olympics, not sure he will be around or competitive in 3 years time in Paris (and it may be on clay in Paris?). Andy also is committed to the Olympic cause as a double champion; Jo probably also sees it as a last chance and no doubt Heather will see potential for a medal in Mixed, as will Joe and Neal see opportunities.
Not that I agree holding it this season is a good idea, but as it is happening, I will watch with interest - I reckon in the mens doubles and mixed doubles we must stand medal chances of one colour or another; dont see it is singles I am afraid, although Dan and Jo could surprise me
As Lordbrownof reported , Jo is out - so presumably we lose womens doubles as well as Heather is too lowly ranked; and we lose a mixed spot , leaving Heather to play mixed with maybe joe or Neal, or Andy?
