Girls: 2021 Wimbledon (Week 27)

Congratulations to Kylie, who won 6-1 in the third.

Ranah had a point for *5-1 but couldn't take it, now *4-2.

And Mingge is battling very hard, from 1-4* to *4-4

Mingge had a point for 5-4* but was broken and lost the set 6-4. Still a hugely impressive effort against a top 600 player so far.

Ranah saved four break points, then missed three game points before finally holding for 5-2*

Hep just starting *1-1

I hope all these girls have been looking at Emma as a positive inspiration of where they can be. She is a contemporary to many of them and it might light some fires of belief of what it achievable.

Ranah gets a match point... Saved. Game point. Saved. Match point ..

Yes! What a win, 5-7 6-4 6-2

Mingge *4-0 second set.

Hep 2-3*

Wish we could watch!

 Yeah.....cry

Or a whirl in the doubles?

Oops, no.....

However, thrilled for Ranah too. She's a really interesting player. Non-standard.

And, allez Mimi ! It's going to be hard against the 4th seed. But she's already been SO impressive on grass this summer.....

Fantastic effort from the GB girls. All that prep on grass court is paying off. Fantastic stuff!

Shame for Mimi with that draw, she could have won a couple of rounds no doubt.

 Absolutely !

Hope she gets a play in the doubles (she and Hep won the U16 nationals together)

AND at least she can look at this week as the one where she went up 1733 (!!!) places, to 740 (and being born 2007, is one of the best ranked for her age now)

I've only just realized that ESPN+ is showing all the junior matches - I wish I'd known, would've loved to have watched Mimi! I'll definitely be tuning in for the rest.

Amelia is looking solid if unspectacular. Hugo broken at a critical time but he's competitive again a top 40 player which must be encouraging for him. He just needs a little more power and length on his shots, which I'm sure will come.
