Kylie and Mingge are of course in doubles (last 16?) still, so with Alicia and Jack PJ make up our juniors reps

Kylie and Mingge were beaten by 6-4 6-2 in their L16 match so, with Alicia earlier and Jack just lately losing their singles QFs, that's over and out for the GB boys and girls at Wimbledon.

The upshot is that the four semifinalists are three girls who accounted for three of our quartet who made the last 16 (all ranked around 700 WTA) and Roehampton champion Linda Fruhvirtova (WTA 355)

SF

(1) Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (AND) v Nastasja Mariana Schunk (GER)
(8) Linda Fruhvirtova (CZE) v Ana Mintegi Del Olmo (ESP)

And for the third Wimbledon in succession there will be an unseeded winner. As a result either Matilda or Kylie will have lost to the eventual winner

SF

Nastasja Mariana Schunk (GER) d. (1) Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (AND) 6-4 4-6 6-4
Ana Mintegi Del Olmo (ESP) d. (8) Linda Fruhvirtova (CZE) 6-3 7-5

The owlish Spaniard becomes her country's first winner of this event. From what I saw, today and in earlier matches, there was a clear determination and focus, particularly in the latter stages of matches

F

Ane Mintegi Del Olmo (ESP) d. Nastasja Mariana Schunk (GER) 2-6 6-4 6-1

Her match with Kylie was a real tussle. I was very impressed by her. Very good under pressure. Real depth and penetration on her shots. And Kylie really have her a run for her money
