Remember, nominations close on Sunday evening this week for July. 10 players so far, should be a decent quality and a manageable number of entrants to vote for this month.

8 men and 2 women currently on the list - hard to see where another woman will come from this week, the male - female ratio isnt usually this pronounced...

Looking now as if we wont get any players with multiple entries, now our doubles players at the Olympics are all out.

So i think we are looking at a straight run, single list with the usual recent 50% threshold or a final run off of the top 2 if no one reaches the 50% - it seems unlikely we will get many more nominees so that process should work out quite nicely this time around.

Planned dates for remainder of PoM votes this season (and thus results up to these dates will count in each month)

July PoM - Sunday 1st August
August PoM - Sunday 29th August
September PoM - Sunday 3rd October
October PoM - Sunday 31st October
November/December PoM - Sunday 12th December (this vote will cover both months due to lack of events over the full period, ATP/WTA drawing to closes in early November period.

Player of Season Votes - Running up to Sunday 19th December.

All will be done and dusted then!!

Following above, planned vote dates will be:

July PoM - Sunday 1st August for initial vote, Mon 2nd for any play off

August PoM - Sunday 29th August for initial vote, Mon 30th August for play off

Sept PoM - Sunday 3rd Oct for initial vote, Mon 4th Oct for play off

Oct PoM - Sunday 31st Oct for initial vote, Mon 1st Nov for play off

Nov/Dec PoM - Sunday 12th Dec for initial vote, Monday 13th for play off

PLAYER of SEASON - I will aim at Wednesday 15th December onwards and it depends on how many players reach the finals - last season we had 32 for example, but I contrived quite a few spurious nomination routes and expect it to be less this season. We have 11 so far in for sure, and should reach 20 something I would guess, maybe 24, in which case I will probably have a first round set of groups, final and play off using the 50% rule for the final/play off - so probably 3 rounds of votes running Wed 15th and closing Saturday 18th December

Note the wheelchair events at the paralympics run til 4th September so will count in the Sept PoM discussions, along with US Open and USTA Championships for wheelchair players. Sept could prove a big month for the wheelchair players and I really hope folks here take notice of them!

Putting aside Cam, whos qualified, we seem to have Charles Broom in mens doubles, julian cash , Eva Shaw in J3 action as our only players left to possibly add to this list, unless we count British Tour players now!

As Eva Shaw is now the only player left in action and her doubles final is today, play for the month will be done. So I plan to post the PoM votes this evening.

Any last minute nominations, please get them in before lets say 8 pm, Ill post the polls sometime later in the evening.
