2021 GB Player of the Month Thread Jul to Dec

Ok, I know it's a bit obvious but I've got to nominate Emma and Dan. Everyone's thinking the same, surely.....

No matter what else they do in the US Open, or in the rest of September, Dan's made the second week here, with some amazingly gritty play.

And Emma has just swept all obstacles away, in an amazing breath of fresh air, with a charming insouciance.

It's been a joy watching the two this last week, and maybe next too....

So nominations for both, even at this stage

The end of season poll will be fascinating I think - several mens and womens players now putting themselves up there

Hmm I think it really is, just the runners up position up for grabs now.

Hannah Klugman (born 2009) would have to win a 15k !

Hey, I have to try and keep it alive somehow!!

You never, ever ,know - all sorts of amazing things could happen; not sure what but they could! Honest!!

Dont forget the wheelchair players - they could win singles and doubles slams individually and be part of the World Team Cup winning team at month end - that would be amazing and worthy!!!

Well regardless of where we are at the end of week 2, 3 more weeks to go (3 1/2) and let's keep those nominations coming - they are all worthy and they do all count in how we may end up judging player of the season as well, indeed the RU spot would also count (although that may require some tactical voting to ensure we dont get 100% for one person!!).

Even it is just a coronation, we will still do a vote and see where it takes us!

PS if Joe wins mens and mixed doubles US Open titles - that would be amazing?

PPS if Jamie wins US Open mens doubles - that would be amazing?

PPPS if Hannah or Hep win Les Petit A's, that would be pretty good?

Lets make sure we give the credit where it is deserved even if our winner is sort of pretty much certain!

PPPPS - I hope no one thinks player of the season is a done deal as well, eeek.

I think player of the season is a done deal

But the PoM and PoS are great and let's continue to see how they all play out.

PS : I don't think folk are missing giving well deserved credit elsewhere.

A quick personal aside - mid season I was getting quite frazzled with work and other things and decided to drop some of my poll type activity including this. I have dropped some of the things now such as the "most wins at a slam" stuff and really pleased someone else has picked up the task (thanks FW on this occasion!).

I said I would drop PoM and Player of the Season and Indy said that if I did he would take it on. I hope Indy is ok with this, but I have changed my mind! I am in a better place now and , also, getting rid of the other things means I just have one baby to nurture; I love doing player of the month and some of the recent amends we have made (thanks to Emmsie, CD and others for suggestions) have helped me reduce the amount of work I put in.

So, if Indy is willing to hand back the baton for 2022, I am very happy to continue and drive it forwards, but knowing there are good folks around willing to pick things up should I need a break or someone to help out for a month or so.

And, like all things, we can continue to refine the process as ideas come to mind, whether nominations process or polling process. Ideas will continue to be welcomed and have also helped a lot as per above

Many thanks all and for kind words around this, I do enjoy it and it is pleasing others enjoy this also
