Jodie and Katie B really not playing well. Katie doing her best but outclassed.

Word for word my thoughts. Keys is too good for Swan, Swan can't apply much if any pressure and is handing way too many UEs.

Really awful performance from Jodie, 6-2 6-1 against Davis, a player you'd really think she'd stand a chance against. Awful grass court season for her.

Very disappointed with Jodie's performance. Easily her worst of the grass and she was just spraying the ball everywhere and not thinking clearly. Perhaps playing the occasion not the opponent. Understandable first time out but you want to see the Brits really showing what they can do and doing themselves proud. She didn't show any signs of what we know she is capable of.

Katie B into a breaker. Lao is a pretty tricksy player, not giving Katie much rythm or pace.

Katie S 2-3* and playing some good points.

Like I said in an earlier thread. Easy money for Jodie. Should have put her in qualifiers which I doubt she would have got through.
I just hope we dont get 8 losses now Jo has gone.

8 defeats in a row now for Jodie, she's having a very tough time. Davis, while a solid enough WTA player, isn't exactly a slam draw you would actively look to re-do, if given the choice. Big contrast to when she won that title in Dubai a few months ago. Hope she can turn it around soon.

Completely agree. Her and Katie S are on par in my mind. Both have weapons and potential, injury prone, lack consistency. Can win it all or lose to anyone. Katie S came through quallies and even though a defeat to Keys looks inevitable, she's got solid wins behind her and I think that'll do her a world of good. This 6-2 6-1 messy performance for Jodie will have done nothing but add funds.

Katie Swan hitting some nice shots, serving better now but it's tough going getting anything on Keys serve. A slight dip in Keys level wouldn't go amiss right now

What 2 points to save set points for Boulter! This is a pretty decent quality match - I'm very impressed with Lao, some great grass court play!

Lao takes her third set point (probably deserved it to be honest). That forehand slice is wicked it's just dying on the court.

Katie's elbow looks a mess. Do we know what the issue is?

I'd love her to fight back but Brits tend to win and lose as a clump, so I rather fear about the rest of this one.

Hard to criticise swan too much but she made so many ues on important moments.
Bodies was horrendous.
Good chance boulter will bounce back and take the second
