Week 26 - Wimbledon - London (grass) - women's main draw

Amazed at how rounded her game looks. Shotmaking on the run, angles, attitude and moves so well for someone her height. Didn't think her junior results were that special but clearly not entirely representative

Bloody brilliant and into US open qualifying now which is another bonus. Wonder how her plans will change now?

Got to say, that's probably the best 20-30 mins of tennis in my life. I was prioritising the Emma match, and absolutely amazing, but also from a personal perspective Badosa fighting back from a grim position to make her first Wimbledon second week as well.

What an afternoon, what a special talent we have. Forget England, can't wait for Monday. Unreal.

That's what WCs are for!

Yeah looking at Tomjanovic's grand slam results, she's only made it beyond the 2nd round once before and that was Roland Garros 2014.

Both players must be looking at this match as an amazing opportunity to become a grand slam quarter finalist.

Yes would look a winnable match from Emma's point of view.  This  is Tomljanovic's 27th  Grand Slam appearance. She's also never  won a WTA singles title which currently puts her the 8th highest ranked player at 75  not to have achieved this.

We are seeing a changing of the guard at the top of GB women's tennis, it's been coming for a few years now. It must be great for Heather and Jo to see the progression happening, that they can pass the baton on with confidence to the younger players, and have a hand in guiding them as they develop. First Katie B., then Harriet, both taking responsibility and performing so well in the recent Fed cup ties, then the youngsters Katie S., Jodie, and now Emma all progressing rapidly. The whole group self-propelling. Competition at the top. Anne Keothavong said at the last Fed Cup tie, that all the players were about at the same level. GB women's tennis is looking strong atm, especially on our favoured surfaces.

Another fantastic performance. I thought she made good use of the crowd. Excellent serving again, high first serve percentage, winning 83% on first. 2nd serve looks ok but doesn't seem to trouble her opponents at this level. Some sensational passing shots.

Could have been a more comfortable win had she played better on the break points.

Emma's reaction to losing that 15 minute game with nine deuce points was indicative of her mindset, straight out to impose more pressure on her opponent.

You have omitted Fran who has progressed more rapidly than Jodie!

KK, my error, and a glaring omission at that, Fran is also in that group too. She played so well against Coco Gauff, and showed she can compete at the top level.
