RE: Week 26 - Wimbledon - London (grass) - women's main draw

Big chance with two break points on the Cirstea serve, but swatted away without much chance of reply

Sam then holds really well after being 0-30 down to keep it alive - but time running out

Cirstea ROM 6-3 *4-3 [WC] Murray Sharan

Very decent effort but Cirstea has too much in the end.

Sorana Cirstea ROM d[WC] Samantha Murray Sharan 6-3 6-3

Had *30-0 in the final game, and saved one match point with a great serve but not the second. Acquitted herself well against difficult opposition, and if she doesn't play another Wimbledon, no shame in that performance to go out on.

Im slightly concerned about Katie B playing on the centre court ice rink...

Avoiding injury almost as good as a win for her in these circumstances.

Great showing from Sam, but her opponent had too much power and was like a rock today. Sam really fought though, some great serving and some top notch points with her and Cirstea properly trading from the back of the court. Does anyone know what Sam's plan is going forward? Is she planning to continue playing or do we think this is her last season?

Does seem a shame that if the AELTC can give a wildcard to Naomi and Chardy, Sam and Divij don't feature.

That great first set performance ruined only by Inverdale's inept commentary.

How is he a tennis commentator? Has there ever been such an unknowledgeable tennis commentator before? So irritating.

I must be the only one. I don't mind inverdale. Of course he's an idiot. But he's quite pleasant. And to me, hes ok as long as he's the fool guy, so as l8mg as he has a knowledgeable person alongside. Like Tracey.
In the same way, even Castle is ok if alongside someone sensible.
John Lloyd, on the other hand, has zero redeeming features

It just seems like the 'old boys club' rather than hiring genuinely knowledgeable / passionate commentators. Just giving these guys cushy jobs with sizable pay packets for just sitting around and adding nothing other than nonsense.

Oh Im in the John Inverdale is a clown club too!

I prefer all of these to Boris. He might have been a brilliant player but as a pundit I don't think he has anything of interest to say - just states the b****** obvious.
