Im counting that 48 womens singles matches arent completed so far, but only 40 are on todays schedule. 8 missing , are they court tba or are they expecting them to play back to back days Wednesday and Thursday?

Its the 8 matches in the top half of the second quarter (Svitolina to Pavlyuchenkova section) that are not on the OoP today so no one will be at a disadvantage relative to their opponent for having to play consecutive days.

Yes, Harriet would have beaten Ahn I am certain. I think she played a little better than the score looks, but the little half chances and game/break point opportunities she didn't take stopped it being meaningfully competitive.
Whilst everyone else has been watching the football I've been enjoying this excellent match. I thought the quality was really high from both players. Fran is such a fighter and she gave everything as always, but Coco's serving was phenomenal and Fran just couldn't find a way to break. She looked so disappointed at the end but hopefully when she has time to reflect she will take heart form how well she played and know that she'll be back here many more times.
The depth and power of Fran's shots were very impressive. Also her balance on a slippery court was incredible. She must put in the hours for her fitness, as balance is a barrier than her opponents don't have to worry about (generally). Coco slipped a dozen times today. Fran has the heart of a lioness. So impressed!!

Gauff struggles with her footing but takes charge tactically at key moments. Wild card Francesca Jones demonstrates that her forehand is a dangerto her opponent, ballkids, line umpires, and court furniture alike. Coco wins, 75 64.
