Whilst its no excuse, it has to be nerves. Heather states that she likes grass and has a good game for it. Other than 'that match' she crumbles in England.
Coach psychology ?

When Heather plays agressively and goes for her shots, she can be great. When she stops and starts playing passively it all goes downhill very fast - Ahn was able to out-rally her on many occasions. Such a pity, Heather could be so much better.

And it has just happened so many times without adjustment. I appreciate there are nerves but that's part of the game. All it would've taken is some low slices and getting into the net. Heather really can volley well and she can play angles, I'm baffled honestly.

But it is what it is...

Forget Heathers mare, I'm having one with this ticket sharing. It appears as though ticketmaster are switching tickets right up to the bitter end. I've gone from the back of court 1 to the front, fabulous tickets but I'm probably going to be on the outside courts instead. I've shared a ticket to my friend 3 times.

How come Emma's not played much this year? I'm assuming that there have been matches available to her this year?

She's just finished school, so only recently been able to play.

Oh, I see. I had assumed that she would have been doing her schooling on tour. I guess she's just finished her A-levels then?

Great comeback by Katie B, probably won't go any further but still a successful Wimbledon.

Keys had too much for Katie S but still a great achievement to make it this far after her injury troubles.

A missed opportunity for Jodie, desperately needs to find form again.

Very disappointing for Heather, 2021 doesn't seem to be her year.

Well on the whole a bit of a disappointing if at times predictable start to the tournament.

Jodie was terrible. No other word to describe it. Still she's picked up a decent pay day for little effort on the day. A waste of a wild card really. I think she should have been put into the qualifiers like Katie S. She can do better than this.

Katie S did well to qualify but was just outclassed on the day by the better player. Still she's got some decent points and money for her efforts. She can probably be pleased with her efforts the last week.

Not sure what to say about Heather. A match she should have won she manged to lose. Great credit to Ahn who never gave up and was out on her feet for many of the last few games. You could see how much the whole match meant to her not just the win but playing on that court.

Good win for Katie B but I thinkwe would have been a bit disappointed if she had lost that. Tough match next but actually winnable with a bit of luck and her opponent can implode at times
