Linda Noskova just missed out on a seeding with her Junior ranking (she has only played grand slams in the last 18 months) and was one of the highest ranked WTA (655) having won a couple of 15K events this year, but she joins Barbora Krejcikova in a Czech double, with a straight sets win. Luca van Assche won the all French battle
Without over-egging it, the juniors has taken on a potentially significant indicator role this week:
As above but just to reiterate, in the girls we have a Czech winner, meaning that the Czech Rep (population 10 million) has a stranglehold on female tennis here, taking the women's title, the junior's title and - potentially - the doubles title (two Czech women in the final)
And in the boys, the winner was French, the finalist was French, the two losing semi-finalists are French AND the boys' doubles was won by a French pair. (The men's doubles was also won by a French pair).
Time will tell whether this has any significance going forward but interesting to note ....
