Matilda looks a touch hot and tired (she was so close to closing it out in the second - can't be easy - although it happened yesterday too)

But she's still in this one.

Love the extremely risky second serve ace on BP (when her previous normal second serve had got thumped away). And the backhand down the line winner on the point after. Real risk taking.

And then the other girl played extremely well to finish it off.

But disappointing from Matilda, to be honest.

Well, I never set too much store by juniors

But ......

in the girls semi-finals there are THREE Russian girls (and a Cezch).

And - high stress in Paris at the moment -

in the boys there are already THREE French lads in the semis - and the final QF is being played now, with another French lad being 7-6 3-1 up..... a clean sweep of 4 French boys in the juniors would go some way to easing the 'pain' of the adults here this year

And it is a clean sweep for the French lads into the SFs.

Extremely well timed, especially for the French Federation.

Yes, the FFT are VERY excited (covering their backsides too, I feel, or trying to, but you can't blame them).

But four out of four is a bit special. Never happened before.

All diversity being really welcome in tennis, worth noting that two of the players are black. Also, three are born in 2004 so still have another year in juniors.

Showing that ranking and seeding in juniors is a bit of a nonsense:

Girls FINAL

E Andreeva (RUS) v L Noskova (CZE) - neither are seeded

Boys FINAL

(14) Arthur Fils (FRA) v (13) Luca Van Assche (FRA)
