So Lauren Davis came through another three-set match, and is due to play Katie later

I thought Lauren Davis was extremely injured? FairPlay to her

Jo and Vekic pull out their doubles semi. Not a great surprise but all the more of a shame Em and Beth couldn't give a proper fight yesterday, their opponents are now into the final from a retirement and a walk over!

I've been watching for that to start on sofascore - only just been updated from "delayed" to "walkover".
Such a pity about Beth's injury - I thought they stood a decent chance in that match.

Katie just about to start against Lauren Davis. No strapping on Lauren today.

If she goes into win the match does that also make her a cheat as per comments about Davis earlier on?

That's such a shame. But this poor girl seems to pick up an injury every time she steps on court! It's one thing after another.

Yes, poor Katie, let down by her body again. The odds unfortunately were probably against her seeing out 6 matches, however well she was playing.

Body, give her a break, err not as in broken bone!

Katie B v Heather looks like a fascinating match up - after this we should have a better idea about where Katie B's game is at and it will also be a real test for Heather.

As soon as I saw Katie B's odds of 28-1, it felt wrong, and like others, I wish I had had a punt. I am not saying she will win (though she was and still is my tip - curse of death of course), but she is looking like she is really returning to pre-injury form now. I am very excited for her.

I have very warm feelings towards Heather too; she has done great things for British tennis over the years and I think she is probably a little under-appreciated really. She is of course in that exclusive club of Grand Slam mixed doubles winner, and whatever anyone thinks about mixed doubles, Grand Slam winner, British and still alive is a pretty short list.

Anyway hope both women play well and do themselves justice. I'm rooting for Katie B, because she is my favourite player, but also because I feel she still has a great chance of making it back into the top 100 and becoming a major league player. This could be the tournament that really re-starts her career - fingers crossed to her, but good luck to both players - hopefully everyone on here appreciates what they have done for British tennis.

Sadly this post did not age very well.
