Bravo to both.

Eva must have been a shoo-in for the juniors md anyway.
But not sure about Hugo.
So well done to him for seizing the day, so to speak

Is Eva in the U18 event as well? I know she now has a WC to the Jr competition, but might not be the worst idea to consider her for an actual QWC (or I guess at least a place in the Q playoff). They did give a then 15 y/o Holly F one in 2018 (although it didn't go great, and there may have been other reasons behind it, given her background i.e. potentially switching), Emma Rad too as a 15 year old, although that's less surprising, and Eva was competitive at the Sunderland W25 15 months ago, beating Ali C (what's she up to??) in R1 to the loss of 5 games, and took the eventual champion Tomova to 5 games in one set in R2.

Yes, Eva's in the U18 main draw. The winner will get a QWC. Which may well be Eva. Although Kylie and Kristina P and a couple of others might have other thoughts.

But you've got Millie Bissett and Matilda Mut to consider.

So I don't think they can give out too many QWCs, i.e. one to Eva AND one to the winner here (if it's not Eva), and then Matilda, and possibly Millie.... it's just too much....

However, like you, assuming they're doing the Wimbly qualis play-offs, I'd think that they'll be a couple of WC places into that that might go to the youngsters....

I agree CD that with the greater relative depth in our women as against our men, there don't look too many spaces for our best youngsters. Look at the 13 we have competing in the Nottingham singles. Other than Jo and Heather most of them will be looking for MD or Q WCs and some need held back for the qwc play-offs and possibly some event winners. Even if the LTA/AELTC are more generous than some suspect that they will be with MD WCs there is a numbers issue where we are not talking about absolutely exceptional youngsters.

May not go beyond the U18 winner and possibly Matilda Mut ( been finding ITFs pretty challenging ) for initial q wcs but there should certainly be quite a few opportunities in the qwc play-offs.

Ah well, she'll just have to do the double then smile, and I suppose if you are piling the QWCs with youth then it does kind of render the specifically outlined U18 incentives a bit more pointless. She really does have an imposing presence for her age, and I mean that as an absolute compliment.

I guess part of it will depend on what the likes of Katy D, Maia, and even Katy S (it's not like her to miss Nottingham) are up to in a couple of weeks, and I guess the MDWC situation as well (regarding the likes of Jodie and Emma Rad), if it's just the more widely fancied 3 getting them, then yes, spaces will absolutely be limited.

I also wonder if they give a QWC to a promising overseas players like last year (Linda Fruh or someone), although if Snigur does get a MDWC then they might think that's plenty from that perspective.
