And Ryan P is good at hustling.

He's now taken it into a third set, having won the second 7-5

Too much tennis to keep up with! (Mustn't complain!)
Great wins for James and Ryan -well done!
This time two years ago I was at Queens qualifying. It was a great day of free tennis! Hope they bring it back again in the future.

I guess covid is proven to be transmitted a lot more in qualifying.

Berrettinini (1) in the L16 if he wins that one.

L32:  (WC) Liam Broady WR 146 (CH = 137 in April) vs Adrian Mannarino (FRA) WR 36 (CH = 22 in March 2018)
L32:  Alexei Popyrin (AUS) WR 63 (CH = 61 last month) vs (6) Daniel Evans WR 27 (CH = 26 in February)

L32:  Cameron Norrie WR 45 (CH = 41 last month) vs Albert Ramos (ESP) WR 38 (CH = 17 in May 2017)

L32:  (WC) Jack Draper WR 309 (CH = 283 last August) vs (3) Yannik Sinner (ITA) WR 19 (CH = 17 last month)  bleh

Well Paire is as good a draw as any given his poor form. Sinner/Draper interesting.

Winners of Liam/Dan to meet.

Paire was in a lot of the French press, though, saying that he'd re-found the joy of playing, now that there were audiences again. He was playing miles better at RG than previously.

But, yes, it's not a bad draw.

Mannarino is hardly on top form either, a long way from it. Hardly won a match this year. And lost badly to some quite lowly ranked players. Liam's the underdog but he couldn't do any better than that.

Doesnt that go to the highest ranked FQR loser or a draw between the two highest ranked FQR losers. So no potential benefit for Ryan or James.

Ddidn't they chage how LLs are awarded a small number of years ago?  IIRC there was concern that a highly ranked player in FQR would have no incentive if he knew that he would be awarded an LL spot if he was to lose.  I'm sure there are members of the board who are more au fait with rules and regs than I am.

There is no shortage of tennis being played today!

Wardy has just lost the first set 4-6

With more breaks of serve than you can shake a stick at....
