Emma won the final 7-5 6-3, so well done her. Didn't see a second of it, but looks a good effort from Kylie.

Good to see Emma back to winning ways albeit at a relatively low level.

Not from a Tier 2. There have been bonuses for Premier Tier winners before, but nothing announced for this year.

Yeah, I realised, rules are always there to be bent to fit the situation. This year would have been good to do something I reckon.

Bit of an upset with the top seed losing to the wildcard. But Toby was always touted as the best 2002-er, and then got seriously overtaken by Felix and Arthur (which came as no surprise), and I'm not sure he's played much recently (?) so the fact that Will managed to get the win is maybe not as much of an upset as all that.

Not too surprising that Will Nolan had to retire today, too, after the epic yesterday. Hope he's OK. And Matt too.

QFs:

(wc) Will Jansen def. (1) Toby Samuel 6-2 4-6 1-0(6)
(q) Ben Stride def Matt Southcombe 7-6(8) Retired
(5) George Davies def (3) James Mackinlay 6-3 6-2
(6) Oli Tarvet def. (2) Will Nolan 4-1 retired.

In the women, Kylie Bilchev is going through the draw like a hot knife through butter. Three matches and she's lost 6 games.

The semis are:

(1) Anna Brogan v Hannah Smith
(wc) Kylie Bilchev v (2) Nadia Rawson

Amazingly Bilchev is the Ukrainian translocation of hot knife through butter. Amazing

Toby Samuel has been playing at University of South Carolina featuring regularly on the team line-up in both singles and doubles (according to the college stats 27-7 in singles at mainly No3 and No. 4 singles and a lot of doubles matches too  26-11) . So a bit of an upset, so its probably an off day for the top seed or a good day for the wildcard.

Maybe cy, but as you can guess I've always thought Toby was a little overrated (which means he can now has full permission to leap into the top 300 ) so I see it as less of an upset.

Ben Stride was quite a decent player, went to US college, pretty sure he was ATP ranked at some point, had problems with injuries, I think. Not sure what he's been doing in the last couple of years but good to see him back.

Kylie's carrying on her hot butter knife tendencies. The final will be more of a challenge though.

And it's still 'allez, allez' to young Will Jansen:

SFs:

(1) Anna Brogan def. Hannah Smith 6-1 6-2

(wc) Kylie Bilchev def. (2) Nadia Rawson 7-5 6-2

Men:

(wc) Will Jansen def Ben Stride 6-3 6-3

Oliver Tarvet def George Davies 6-3 1-6 1-0(6)
