British Tour 2021

No results showing yet from Felixstowe for this morning's mens qualifying matches. I'm quite a few miles away, but there is a lot of cloud about, and local heavy showers ib Suffolk and Essex, so not sure how much play they will get in today.

Do they use court covers in British tour events? Otherwise it could be a bit soggy, soft, slippy when they do actually play...

Haven't see any at covers Felixstowe when I've been there - but it has always been t-shirt weather (see pic). But to be fair, I'm 30 miles away, and the showers are very localised.
They have been playing though - quite a few results now posted on the website.

Friday's quarter-final line up

Emma Raducanu [1] v Eva Shaw
Madeleine Brooks v Tia Bonita Jakupovic-Kljako

The men's competition has gone more to seedings, with Liam Hignett and David Quayle the seeds to miss out

Friday's quarter final line up is:-

Semi-finals also scheduled for Friday - and the finals on Saturday. Sadly I can't get there before mid-afternoon tomorrow, so probably won't make the trip.

Yes, semis this afternoon and finals tomorrow. I couldn't get away today to go down, but the weather here (30 odd miles away) is just great for tennis. Warm but not too sunny, very low winds. Probably breezy at Felixstowe though, as the club is right by the seafront.

No news from the LTA about yesterday's semi-finals yet.
However Michael Kaminski is playing Robert Leck [8] in the final - live on YouTube with commentary

(He's having some connection problems, so a bit fragmented)

From googling:

Kaminski is doing a PhD at Cambridge in Materials Sciences

So a bit of light relief in the form of tennis might be good for him

And hails from Poland

Emma won the final 7-5 6-3, so well done her. Didn't see a second of it, but looks a good effort from Kylie.
