Other events, 2021 - week 12

We've got a batch of our girls are in Tunisia for a J5 this week.

In qualis, Maria Ustic (age 13) and Anjali Kotecha (age 15) have won their QR1 matches easily.

Alaia Rubio Perez got a BYE to QR2

In the main draw, we've got Sophia Johnson (born 2004) and Imogen Haddad (born 2005)

In the J5 in Poland, Matt Southcombe and Roy Keegan are in the MD.

David normally does a separate thread for the J1s and J2s but (unless an LL spot comes up for Sarah) it's only qualis and that's not normally worth a spearate thread so I'll put it here:

In the J1 in Spain, Flora Johnson lost in QR1. As did Libby Darley.

Cheri Darley got a win in her QR1 match but lost in QR2.

Sarah Tatu did really well, winning two rounds, including against the q5 girl, ranked 276, and heart-breakingly lost her FQR match 11-13 in the MTB. (Lucky loser spot anyone????)

Josh Manuel and Tommy Harrison lost in QR1

Tunisia, J5:

13 year-olds Maria Ustic got another win in qualis.

As did Alaia Perez Rubio, by the skin of her teeth.

Anajli lost, though.

The FQRs are later today.

In the boys, Roan Jones won his QR1 - but he's a wildcard who should be in the main draw, and seeded, by rights

Sergiy Rafiee lost his QR1 match in a MTB

In Poland, J5, Roy Keegan (seeded 8) rather disappointingly lost his R1 match. Matt still to play.

Poland, J5, turns into a complete bomb as Matt Southcomber (seeded 3) also goes out in R1.

And Roy Keegan and partner withdraw from the doubles

However, the girls in Tunisia are doing better.

With R1 wins for Imogen Haddad and Sofia Johnson.

Alaia's match still to come

Tunisia, J5:

R2: A win in three sets for Imogen but Sofia lost in two

Roan also lost.

Success in the doubles for all three girls.

The two boys lost their dubs match.
