Officials are imposing an emergency 8 pm - 6 am curfew for Miami Beach, effective immediately after hard-partying spring break crowds trashed restaurants, brawled in the streets and gathered by the thousands without masks or social distancing, according to authorities.
At a news conference, officials blamed overwhelming and out-of-control spring break crowds for the curfew, which was taking effect Saturday night in South Beach, one of the nations top party spots. Tourists and hotel guests are being told to stay indoors during curfew hours.

Photograph: Marco Bello/Reuters Its unclear how long the curfew will remain in effect, but Interim City Manager Raul Aguila told the Miami Herald that he recommends keeping the rules in place through at least 12 April. A countywide midnight curfew was already in place due to the Covid pandemic.
These crowds are in the thousands, Aguila said. Were at capacity.
No pedestrians or vehicles will be allowed to enter the restricted area after 8pm and all businesses in the vicinity must close, Aguila said, reading from a statement released by the city.
The curfew comes as a prominent bar, the Clevelander South Beach, announced it was temporarily suspending all food and beverage operations until at least March 24 after crowds crammed Ocean Drive, breaking out into street fights. At another restaurant next door, tables and chairs were smashed during a fight, news outlets reported.
My old haunting ground The Clevelander along with Club Deuce and the long gone Island Club on 7th and Washington. Good times back when South Beach was cool.
ETA for the record it's a long way from the tournament location and I would imagine most of the Players will be located in North Miami.

I got my Flight ratings in Florida with a view to becoming a Commercial Pilot but I got pregnant and then in the time away realised that actually the thought of sitting in a ****pit with 1 other person for upto 14 hours was not really my idea of fun. I've been in hospitality most of my adult life, much more suitable for me. I do have a Commercial license with multi engine instrument ratings but not current.
Jack Draper has a wild card for Miami. Assuming fitness problems do not intervene, how far do people see him getting in the game? Is he another Andy or maybe Dan/Kyle/ Cam (i.e comfortably top 100) or less than this?

Less , 100 he may reach but hell end up a career 100-200 player
If he pretty much stays fit, I think Jack will be comfortably a top 100 player. I see him breaking the top 50, possibly top 20, and being at least an occasional top level contendor. So kind of Kyle at his best level.
Stalling a bit at the moment, and I am not sure about this Miami WC but he has shown enough at a young age for me to feel the above.
Tennis Forum is reporting that Serena Williams has pulled out of Miami because of recent oral surgery.

Serena Williams out of Miami Open. Im disappointed to withdraw from the Miami Open because of recent oral surgery. Miami is a special tournament for me because its my home. I am sad I wont be able to see the incredible fans this year, but I look forward to coming back soon.
