Liam is in fact just 1 place outside the top 24 who will be seeded in qualies. Could be an interesting week or two over there for the Brits.
Now showing as the 23rd seed. https://www.dartsrankings.com/tennis/miami
Id be interested in seeing how the cut off's compare to previous years, anyone have any idea? Presumably they are some way lower than historically for this event?

Just looking at recent q23 seeds, Liam is WR 157. In 2019 Thiago Monteiro was WR 120, though in 2018 Alex de Minaur was WR 142.

Thanks Indy, it looked like there is a fair drop off, and that reflects it. I wonder if we will see the Wimbledon cut fall and whether Liam could get himself to near a direct entry (and Andy) without the need for a WC?

Not surprised to see that. With prize money significantly reduced less incentive to leave the European challengers for this.
Kyle is out of Miami per Entry List Updates on Twitter:
Miami update:
OUT: Carreno Busta, Edmund, Cecchinato
IN: J. Sousa, Duckworth, Martin
Next: Novak
This is such a shame about Kyle. Not the most exciting of players but a decent, solid one and it's really apparent he isn't playing because it's not like we have a ton of players in the top 150/200 area.
I've often expressed my reservations about him and some ( err non technical ) things that I thought he needed to sort on a long term basis. But huge forehand weapon and he has been a genuine top 20 player at his best.
I really do hope that he can sort out his injury issues asap.
Just seen the list of withdrawals in the men's side and the list is huge. Virtually all the big names have gone.
Liam might make the main draw at this rate....
Djoko has withdrawn from Miami, that will move Liam up to 19th seed in qualies as Popyrin goes into main draw.
First time that the big 3 won't play at a master's since 2014 (Paris). This is good though. Represent a small change that the men's tour is undergoing slowly
