5-2 Naomi first love hold, Serenas forehand posted missing. Serena had game points in each of the first 5 games and could have been 5-0. Gives perspective When you see how its gone since. Unless Serena fixes the forehand this wont be a contest for much longer.

First set Osaka 6-3....with a first serve percentage of 36%. Serena well off the pace here. Can see a 6-2 Osaka second set or similar pending. Not a classic sadly.

Osaka wins the set 6-3 and looks well on top now; as soon as I thought it was going to be long, Osaka seemed to get on top, but I've seen to many come backs from Serena over the years, to write her off just yet. Needs a big effort now though. They play quite similarly and at times I feel Osaka is like a younger, fitter and now slightly better version of the 39 year old Serena.

If Serena can keep her service games as good as the last one, maybe Naomi will tighten up on her own serve and Serena has a chance, but she has to play faultless tennis now.
