Probably the wrong thread so sorry, but see we have two Brits only J5 events in Stirling and Wrexham starting wc 17/5 and 24/5 respectively. Entry seems like it has all the juniors youd expect from around 250 rank downwards.

thanks CD - what is the process for a Wimbledon Junior entry? Top 64 entries, presumably less some for qualies and a number of wild cards? I guess what I am really asking is who are we likely to see at JW?

I don't know the procedure for number of wc but there is a wc into main draw for winner and runner up of under 18 nationals grade 1 which is being held on grass at surbiton early in june, also wc into main draw for winner of u16 nationals grade 1 being held at surbiton end may/start june. Incidentally winner of the u18 event gets wc into adult wimbledon qualifying. A huge incentive and great to see. It has meant that just about every single player in top 50 lta u18 rankings has entered, with exception of matilda who we probably imagine will get one anyway.

Regarding wildcards in general I noticed in 2018 they gave out wc to the next highest ranked gb players in general after the direct acceptances, but then 2019 they didn't do this and I think didnt use them all. Remains to be seen what happens.

In general the competing for wc into adult qualifying is a great idea...opens a theoretical pathway from surbiton u18 national to wimbledon main draw etc (if unlikely to happen). Also good to see a pathway that allows those who haven't been able to afford to travel all over building up junior itf points to get into junior wimbledon or even adult qualifying.

I like that and the usta have done similar over the years.

is there an entry list link for the events you reference or a website, Spireman?

 And link to entries:

(why doesn't it change colour and go as a link though? Sure someone explained this before...)

Acceptance should be done by Thursday. U16 is a week earlier so acceptances already done, Eva Shaw top in that. Can get to it by searching lta tournament software, then putting national in box at top, gets there in end.
