Week 46 - ITF (W15) Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Has Jasmine even turned 16 yet? I know her birthday was at the back end, but can't find an actual DOB, so she's either still 15, or a very young 16 year old.

So contrary to Heathers claim (I like Heather but that was defo more about taking the heat off her performance) it now appears as though we have 2 youngsters that can make an impact.

Jasmine is definitely a youngster at 16 but Anna is already 23.That makes her just one year younger  than Harriet and Katie B. and 18 months older than Katie Swan.  However players don't all peak at the same age.

I wasn't referring to Anna but Matilda

I think you are correct in saying she is only 15 and  and I took an  erroneous date of birth you can find from  the  internet. The exact date seems impossible to find  but apears to be the end of 2004.

Agreed Matilda as a promising youngster. Unfortunately Matilda wasn't at Sharma and it could have read that it was Anna bring referred. to. Anna in her junior days beat Marketa Vondrousova at junior Wimbledon when Vondrousova was top seed.. So certainly promising at one stage.

I see top seed and last weeks winner, #308 Boskovic (beat Garland in the final), lost to Lulu Sun/Radovcic today, and that's who Jasmine will play in tomorrow's QF. She used to be reasonably promising, but her recent results haven't been great and Anna B beat her in Qs a couple of weeks ago, so fingers crossed Jasmine can do the same.

Garland is still here, one of 3 remaining seeds.

I eventually saw somewhere that is was 21/12/04, so still 15 for a little over a month, but yes, not easy at all to find.

THe ITF have her as 15

And the LTA listings have her birthday as 21 Dec. 2004, as you say Ace

Either the players are serving better or they're both really poor at returning because it's now 5-5 with only two BP chances (one each, neither taken)

Completely different from yesterday

Scoreboard pressure - Jasmine breaks at last to take the set 7-5

I remember watching Lulu Sun getting beaten by Sasha Hill at Roehampton a couple of years ago.

For a player who was JWR 13, and then won two 15ks (I think it was), she hasn't really moved forward how you'd/she'd have hoped.

Allez, Jasmine!

Meanwhile, Joanna Garland has won her QF with a double bagel.
