Jack Pinnington Jones has a tough draw against the top seed Dali Blanch (brother of US pro Ulises) . The girls event is a day behind, with Millie Bissett and Eva Shaw possibly in the main draw. Kylie Bilchev lost in qualifying, which remarkably includes JWR 3 Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva
Two winners today, with a notable success for Millie. Eva's opponent is top 100 and reached a Grade A semi earlier in the year, so understandably couldn't make it a complete sweep

Jack makes it to both finals. In singles he plays a Belgian who has been a familiar opponent for Brits of late. Jack beat him comfortably en route to a Grade 2 title last month.

Fabulous tournament for Jack. By my math he's due a rather large rankings jump, particularly once you remove all of the '02 boys at the end of the year.

Into the top 50?
Grade 1 tournaments only earn Grade 3 points until the end of the year, so he won't be near the top 50 yet (but should be in the top 50 when the 2002 boys come off)

Apologies that I was going from the original announcement about rankings in August which said "However, a maximum of Grade 3 (J3/B3) ranking points will be awarded in 2020. Any tournament scheduled for 31 August-31 December 2020 that is Grade 2 or better (JA, J1, J2) will be given Grade 3 (J3) ranking points in 2020. "
Having seen that Jack has in fact been given the full 300 points for a Grade 1 win, and hence a large rankings rise into the top 50 (see the rankings thread) I now discover that at some point the original statement has been reviewed and the following added "Upon review, the Juniors Committee has approved the reinstatement of full points at Grade A (JA) and Grade 1 (J1) tournaments subject to high levels of player accessibility."
Clearly Plovdiv has been deemed to meet that criterion (unlike the previous Grade 1 in Serbia), and Jack is the first beneficiary of the change in heart at Grade 1 level.
Meanwhile the girls final resulted in a comfortable win for Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva
