An optimistic 3 of 4 to get to 2nd round.

Have to be honest and say I am dreading a wipe out - and think that is highly possible.

The draws are such that we could have all 4 through or all 4 out. Kei has shown as much form as Dan in the lead up, Stan/Andy is a coin toss, Liam has 3 matches under his belt and Cam has a LL although for me he is the most likely to lose and surprisngly Liam the most likely to win.

Yes.  Liam is our best chance of a win in my opinion.

Maybe I am just being Mr Negative again.  Nasty habit I have got into recently.

Presumably with his ranking of one lower than Dan's nishikori would have been next one to get seeded if anyone above wasn't playing. So this makes Dan's draw the hardest he could get, as a seed, purely based on rankings. Also, if a seed, other than dan, now pulled out, would nishikori move in the draw and thus change Dan's draw, and upto when could that happen, if it were to happen?

No the draw is done, any seed pulling out now is directly replaced by a LL. Seeding wise it is the worst possible case usually but Kei has only played 3 matches since the 2019 US Open 2 of which he lost.

Same issue as before, I believe.

Verdasco has been withdrawn following a positive test, but says he has had numerous negative tests recently and since the on RG test.

So, Andy says he couldn't get his pelvic/hip problem/tendonitis treated properly when he got back from the US because he wasn't allowed to see anyone until he'd had a covid-19 test and the result tool about 6 days to come through......

Not the worst thing in the world at this moment but a long way from perfect preparation, especially someone with his history....

And I laughed when I read that he said the covid tests in the US and France were chalk and cheese....

Suposedly the US just put the swab a little way up your nose and tickle it around whereas the French nurses go full throttle and stick it so far up your nose it goes half way down your throat !

I had one last week for a short hospital stay, horrendous, the women in the bed next to me had a massive nosebleed from it. Both of us said we would choose to isolate for 14 days rather than do it again.  Obviously not an option for the tennis players

I like your optimism! I am the other way - 1 out of 4 to go through and if I have to pick it's Liam to go, everyone else loses.

(Edited because I missed out a number)

I'm in the FW camp, cant see more than one win, mens side, I'm actually thinking Cam most likely.

Although Dan and Andy seem like fair shouts on paper, I dont think either will win, Liam v Vesely, I just think Vesely is a tougher cookie than those hes met in qualies and can turn it on as well. F

Ouch, so sorry to hear that Em.

Hope you're OK now.

Am still dithering about possible wins.

Like someone said above, Kei Nishikori looked pretty ropey in his last event. Mind you, so did Dan, and probably more so. If Dan could spin it out, though, I think I'd prefer him in a long match.

Andy's might look like a pretty hopeless cause but Stan has been faffing about playing lower level players and got trounced by the young Italian wonder so I've got hope

Cam surely has to get ONE win - and this has got his name written all over it. So again hopeful.

And go, Liam !!! He's in great form so why not?

Well that's pretty much as good as it could be.

A LL for Cam.

And Vesely who obviously will be favourite but who lost in R2 to a player about ATP 200 a couple of weeks ago and hasn't had much of a run up to Roland Garros at all (lost in R1 at US Open too)

Liam's got a decent fighting chance

Hope it's not famous last words, but Liam plays well against other Lefties.  I remember him beating Shapovalov a couple of years back.

Hoping that Cam can find some form too.

Not just against lefties in general, but against this particular one.  Liam has already beaten Jiri in a Grand Slam - Wimbledon Juniors when Jiri was top seed, and has another win against him as well -

This gives me hope.  Liam seems to be in a great place mentally at the moment so I really hope he can take advantage.

Thank you but I was there for a covid drug trial so perfectly fine atleast when I got there, a severe case of caffeine withdrawal however saw me off the trial after vomiting. Moral of the story, don;t have a covid test unless absolutely necessary, don't do a drug trial without detoxing from caffeine first (I don't even drink that much) and finally hospitals aren't healthy places to be, thats the 1st time I've vomited since 2013.
