Nice article complete with starfish photo on the RG site
Very unusual for the highest seed a qualifier could draw to be the 25th. No really bad draws for the qualifiers. Cuevas and Chardy are the only ones who nearly always win a round or two - usually an important factor, but may not be this year in the strange and changed circumstances
A brief mention for Liam's win in Stu Fraser's report in today's Times:
Liam Broady, the British No 6 ranked No 206 in the world, qualified for his first grand slam main draw outside Wimbledon by defeating Marc Polmans, the world No 122 from Australia, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. The 26-year-old from Stockport - who is now guaranteed to earn the biggest cheque of his career for £55,000 - received the vocal support of Murray from courtside.
"I started the match pretty badly, then Andy showed up and I think it definitely helped a lot," Broady said "He is a very loud supporter. You can't fault Andy as a tennis player or a human being. I have got to know him a bit better over the last few months and it's been absolutely fantastic."
Inevitably, the headline is hogged by Andy's first round encounter with Stan the Man.
