1 ace
1 point where Liam got a bit lucky (practically dead let cord)
1 super dictating point
1 ace

What a way to finish ! Holds to love.

He falls to the ground and lies there like a starfish

Super week, Liam !!!!

For the record:

FQR:  Liam Broady WR 205 defeated (q12) Marc Polmans (AUS) WR 122 by 7-6(5) 6-4 in an hour & 46 minutes

and qualifies!  jump.gif

So when is the draw for the MD and what are the odds on him drawing Kyle/Evo/Cam/Andy ?

Seem to remember that when he got a WC to Wimbledon a couple of years back, he played Andy in R1. Don't need that this time. Please get him a decent draw because he has earned it.

Brilliant result - well done Liam.

We dont get too many men who manage to qualify for Grand Slams let alone on the red stuff so this is a very good effort. Heres hoping for a decent draw!

Yay, and 35 (net 32 points) so far, including 10 points for MD R1, will certainly have Liam provisionally into the top 200 and likely to hold there  biggrin

Thanks for that Indi. Was doing my own calculations and got them wrong - again. Forgot about the guaranteed extra 10 points for R1 in the MD.

I've given up on points (!!)

But I understand the cash

And Liam's just guaranteed himself EUR 60k

biggrin

I was looking to check the points and cash - points were easy to find, but haven't spotted the prize money breakdown. Both are usually on the pdf draws, but RG just HAS to be different !

 They have front loaded it this year so the earlier rounds and qualifying get more and the later rounds get less (quite a lot less for the winner)  https://www.perfect-tennis.com/prize-money/french-open/

 I was using the ATP site, if it helps

From steven's twitter feed:

lovely to know that Andy Murray was out there supporting Liam - he's a real trooper, our Andy

And perspective:

"Liam is only the 5th British qualifier in men's singles at #RolandGarros in the last 50 years:
2020
@Liambroady

2015
@kyle8edmund

2014
@JamesWardtennis

1973 John Lloyd
1972 John de Mendoza
As you can see, - there was a 41-year gap between the first 2 of those 5 and the last 3"

And here's Liam doing his starfish, as above:
