Last time they played was in May 2004 in Ettlingen Challenger qualies and Granollers-Pujol gave Andy a good thrashing, 6-1, 6-3. It capped a very disappointing clay-court season and almost immediately afterwards, Andy broke off with Alvarez.
However, a year later Andy is in a different class and will win in straights.
Fleming v Granollers-Pujol would have been close on indoor hard but Colin was ill and jet-lagged and played terribly that day - Madeline can testify !!

I knew I had heard his name somewhere! Yes, I will back Andy to beat him (unless he has improved dramatically or is a wizard on clay)
The match before is on now, 6-2 to Monfils first set, second set level pegging t 2-3 going with serve. I think I had better grab some food before the off.
