Looking at points and matches, I can see bulldogs winning a few early ones, UJs coming back and it going down to the last mixed. Could be close! 16-13 last day to UJs...maybe

No Boulter or Konta. Difficult for the BB with Norrie injured too.

Barnett v Lumsden for three points is quite a big one.

Why no Katie or Jo ? Apart from the fact in  the actual event Jo just met the minimum requirements for playing.

Annie talked about injuries in the team a few days back, so we know that Cam is deffo injured, but I suspect that's the main reason. Only other thing that I can think of is that Jo's resting for the tour, but she's pulled out of Palermo as far as I know. Shame, I was rooting for the underdogs. I think Emma's burnt out too, good experience for her though especially early in the week playing a blinder against Andy.

Jo pulled out of Palermo because she decided to play Lexington in the USA  in preparation for the US Open. By chance I heard an interview with Jo last week on Live Drive in which she talks about hiring a car in Lexington. She then discussed what conditions would be like at the US Open. I know Katie is not playing the US Open although she is qualified to do so.

Lumsden a ser up on Barnett, Matusevich on Gray. If Anton wins , it really helps the UJs

I think it's really disappointing that Jo has played so little this week, especially considering how tight the match is.  As the top women's player the Bulldogs could really do with her experience and surely she could do with some match practice after so long out? I would fancy Emma to beat Naomi 99 times our of 100 but I agree Emma looks really tired and I'm worried this might be a match too far for her.

Despite BBs winning 2 of 3 so far today, that 1 win for UJs could be vital. Liam has won opening set v Ryan though, which could make it interesting.

So not playing at all on the final deciding day are

Lloyd and Cam (top scoring men for their respective teams)

Jo ( highest ranked woman in the competition) and Katie ( top 100 last year)

I appreciate that Cam is injured but the others look like either cases of players lacking team spirit or else very strange team selections.
