Week 30 - St. James’s Place Battle of The Brits Team Tennis - NTC, Roehampton, United Kingdom (Hard)

turns out there is more gambling money behind this event, despite the headline sponsor being St james.

Same people doing UK Pro Series which explains the sheer scale of this thing

It is all about content!

And the players/teams are getting decent bonuses.

Also, dan and kyle are good, it seems

Hope the Union Jacks have a good day today and close the gap. Would do the competition good I think. But still hope Emma wins.

Interesting OOP. I see it as ending very close in points today maybe 9-6 or 8-7 to the UJs which won't bring them that close in the overall standings.

UJs seem to be favourites in most matches but I think the Bulldogs will win a few of the multiple point ones. I'm especially eyeing the Joe/Emma pairing as they've both been fantastic!

Jodie served for the first set but Harriet took it 7-5. Very high quality.

Lumsden 63 *65 on Broady, who served for the second. Surprised how poor Naomi has been in her singles this week as she looked pretty sharp the few times I watched her in SGH. Serve not firing here.

Looking like Bulldogs are on top again, early doors?

Far too many errors from Naomi, finished the set so poorly. I always thought Maia would win that, based on recent form. 6-3 7-5

Lumsden closes out eventually. Naomi is so much more relaxed on a doubles court, she could really be top class if she wanted to focus on that discipline in the last few years of her career.

This Dart-Burrage match is really good. Impressed by the level the younger girls have been bringing this week.

Jodie beat Harriet, 5-7, 6-4 10-6, bit of a surprise there?

Ranking wise a bit, but not really overall, bookmakers had them very close pre match, and thst was Harriet's first singles match since a Mexico ITF event in early March.

I personally think Jodie's ceiling is a bit higher, but she obviously hasn't had the slam / WTA tour experience that Harriet has thus far.

I don't think Heather is going to enjoy this.

Oh I think Heather is enjoying herself and it's Emma who isn't. Very sharp from Heather today so far.
