Excellent MTB from Arthur Féry - really good brave, enterprising play on key points - he should be extremely pleased with his performances these past two weeks.
So pleased he's doing well and that it's all coming together.
Was a cheeky underhand serve in there also with Arthur during the second set.
Yeah will be interesting to see what happens with Stanford. Not sure what the situation is with Stanford and their classes but I see a couple of universities are trying to take the authorities to court for stopping overseas students if classes are online. Although Stanford isnt one I see that the Ivy League schools have cancelled their fall sports programmes. Talk of them moving them to Spring.
Not sure on the groups but looks like week 2 players are.
Liam Broady
Billy Harris
Lloyd Glasspool
Charles Broom
Ryan peniston
Alistair Gray
Jan Choinski
Joshua Paris
Auden Mchugh
Henry Patten
Anton Matusevich
Max Basing

Anton and Aidan might provide a bit more general interest than some of the lesser players this week as well, due to their age and junior pedigree. I'm pleased they have at least got a decent field on the men's side to keep more eyes on the product, as the women's side looks like it could be pretty forgettable.
Also only two survivors from week one. Billy and Lloyd. Looking to play 14 days straight. I wonder how many weeks Billy will play here. I know he quite often finds long runs of tournaments and camps it out but Id be surprised if he does the 5 here! Maybe week 1,2,4&5.
I wonder if the tournament may have been better suited if it was 10 players so 2 groups of 5. Every player would then get a day of during Monday- Friday. Sunday would be less games as 9th-10th playoff would be Saturday as no semi final.
Quite tough to get enough players for 5 weeks with Luther tournaments going on like the British tour and the Progress tour etc...

I mentioned that on the women's side earlier in the week. It would certainly be better from the players perspective, and just better generally, but I guess it'll mean 4 (or 8 overall) matches per day rather than the 6 (or 12) they have been getting, and that'll likely be significant to the betting companies putting the money up, and it does seem pretty exceptional money to be fair.
One minor solution could have been to still have traditional SFs and F, and probably a 3rd / 4th place play off, so 4 of them would unfortunately have to play 7 matches in 7 day, but they could have maybe just had say 3rd down to 6th in the groups pair off against those finishing in the same positon in the other group, so 3rd's face off for 5th place on Saturday, 4th's face off for 7th on Saturday, and then 5th's face off for 9th on Sunday, and 6th face off for 11th on Sunday, or have all 4 of those matches on Sunday, so at least 8 of them would get a day off.
I don't know how many MTO's were on the men's side, but there were 2 or 3 on the women's, and if some end up playing the 14 days straight, then you'd think that would inevitably increase as the weeks go on.
No sign of the actual draw yet, but tomorrow's matches:
1) Liam vs Billy
2) Lloyd vs Charles Broom
3) Ryan P vs Alastair Gray
4) Jan Choinski vs Joshua Paris
5) Aidan McHugh vs Henry Patten
6) Anton M vs Max Basing
Just looking back at last weeks order of play for Mon-Fri in the women's, they always had the 3 matches of one group first, then the 3 matches of the other group following on, so assuming they did that for the men, and carry that on this week, I'd imagine Liam, Billy, Lloyd, Charles, Ryan, and Alastair would all be in one group, and the other 6 in the other group. Don't take that as gospel, but could maybe be used as a good gauge.
I guess we'll find out for sure fairly soon for definite anyway.
If you're northern based, these SGH events become a big commitment. You'll need to stay over somewhere as too far to commute. Presumably the organisers are covering expenses?

Yes, and whereas it's usually not that hard to find friends/sponsors/club members etc etc to put up visiting players, I would have thought that's really tricky now (and understandably so), don't even know if it's officially allowed? (No idea where we've got to with bubbles now.....)
