But I also think they imply that he's not in control of himself, that he's mentally ill, etc etc
Which may have a grain of truth - but also sounds too much like a 'reasonable excuse'
Whereas I prefer words like immoral, unprincipled, cruel, dishonest, dishonourable, corrupt, fraudulent, base, vicious, brutish, etc etc
(I could go on for a LONG time)
Lets add narcissist to that list.
Trump knows full well he cant invade by force a land that belongs to a fellow NATO member. The other NATO members would be compelled to protect Greenland. NATO would collapse. World sanctions on the USA would be devastating for American businesses and economy, that is if a world war didnt break out. Trump knows that and wont do anything involving force. This is all posturing and stoking his ego. And seeing how far pressure will take him.
Very sorry re SC's mother, and respect for what she was saying re using other words ( though some have not dissimilar connotations ) but she did ask the question, and there have been various apparent experts in the field that have written regarding their concerns about Trump showing increasing signs of genuine dementia.
Indeed no real excuse for the underlying problems re Trump stem from these other words that CD lists that hold true from all we have seen over the years. But to my mind it adds a very possible worrying element to the Trump c0cktail.
While very probably what Jon says re Greenland is true re posturing etc, what he does generally over time could become more unpredictable, not helped by the nodding lackeys in his administration.
Maybe already something Denmark could / should be raising with the UN? Could put Starmer in a corner.

I'll hold up my hand. I realised that I was opening the door by using the word myself, but had been racking my brains for a single term which encapsulated the man's mental state (even referring to him as a clown is an insult to genuine clowns!) & eventually decided to risk it, perhaps with the concept of the dementors in Harry Potter at the back of my mind... Of my suggestions, "unhinged" & "certifiable" arguably come closest to satisfying my aim, but don't really pack quite the same punch.
