RE: Coronavirus - tennis related wef 4th May

Not sure of the maths of this but in his latest tweet Mike Dickson says another 25 players from the latest plane  with a positive test are quarantined . This is along with the 33 players from before which makes  72 players in all.  47 players a figure quoted before plus 25 does make 72. Some of the figures quoted  make include coaches because Heather has her coach Alex Ward with her. The more you read about it the more you feel the idea of holding the tournament should have been abandoned.

I don't know how Katie got there but she wasn"t on one of the planes which had people testing positive. Being British our media would have mentioned it.

Just reading the BBC sports website saying a player had broken quarantine by opening their  door to speak  to another player on the same floor. Sooner or later somebody will be deported. The betting companies could start odds on who it will be. One excuse offered by some players is that if they had known the rules beforehand they would not have come. Yet they were  explained clearly on the internet.

Didn't realise players are only allowed out for five hours a day so even those not on the infected flights are still stuck in their rooms most of the time.

At least they get to practise for a couple of hours Re Katie she posted a picture from her hotel room in Melbourne  on 13th Jan Russell Fuller tweeted that Heather was the  only British singles player he was aware of flying in on an affected plane. In the latest case  it was the person tested negative when they got on the plane and positive when they got off it.

Tennis Forum is saying Chinese wild card Xiyu Wang  tested positive asymptomatic at Abu Dhabi and quarantined and therefore out of AO.

Atp points will start to drop 15 march with Indian wells

Luca Fiorino (@FiorinoLuca) Tweeted: Due to the delayed start to the 2021 season, the ATP has extended the "Best Of" ranking logic through and including the tournament week of 15 March 2021.

2019 Indian Wells points will drop from the rankings on 15 March, 104 weeks from when the event was added to the rankings t.co/54WGEpC1CO

It is a bit irritating that the WR1 and one of the greatest players of all time is such a dick.

Atp have announced single year events in Singapore , straight after the AO, and Marbella (after Miami) at the atp 250 level.

Are you near Marbella , Bob?

Putting aside the politics, hes a mate of Isner, Ive always liked jack sock the tennis player , Im a fan, like I am of Nick K.

I rate him as the best doubles player and a top 10 singles if he wants it. That week at the o2 a few years back was one of the best of recent years.

Lets hope he makes it.
