And Jodie ran out of steam totally in the third to go out 6-2 5-7 1-6

So from our 7 players to reach the last 16 just Sam has made it through to the QF so far, with Eva, Tanysha, Lissey and Jodie now going out. The remaining match to come is Amarni vs Emma, so the winner will make the second GB player in the QF.

Of those losing today, without having watched the matches, Eva's seems the most impressive performance, and Jodie's perhaps the most disappointing as at 1 set up and 4-4 in the second she seemed to have a good chance of winning, but then fell away altogether.

Yeah it's a shame. Eva, Tanysha and Lissey were always significant outsiders, but I was hoping that one of those, or Jodie, most likely the latter, could come through, and then 3 QFs would have been great, but I suppose Jodie did lose to Pemra on UK soil exactly 12 months ago (4 & 2) when she was just starting to hit her really good form. She was actually 6-2 3-1 up, so definitely a match of 2 halves losing 12 of the last 15 games. It does look a pretty encouraging score for Eva though.

Fett has just won, so Emma Marni should be starting soon. I hope Marni gives a good account of herself, but I do hope Emma comes through for more chance of further progression.

I didn't see what happened there in the middle of that first set. I watched the first few games and Emma was dominant and Amarni looking a little tight, with Emma going a double break 4-1 up... then I got tied up and next time I looked Amarni was serving to go 5-4 up, and so won 4 games in a row, which after those first five games I would never have predicted!

I see Emma also has some protection on the back of her calf today where she seized up yesterday.

...and then the next 3 games i watched, Emma won them easily to win the set 7-5, just as happened with the first games i watched. So any enlightenment on what happened those middle four games that Amarni won in a row would be very welcome!!

..and more weird umpiring.. a ball bounces across into the court on Banks side of the net from the adjacent court, and Emma stops and doesn't go for her shot... and the umpire awards Amarni the point instead of calling a let..

Good to see Marni a fighter. Even though she was 5-7 and 2-5 down, she just broke Emma's serve to go 3-5 down. Shows some spirit.

7 of the 8 seeds have made the QF, Emma was the only non seed who made it, but given she is clearly better than her current ranking, Kostova is in poor form, and the betting odds in that match, that was probably the projected QF line up once the draw was made.

If Emma and Tauson beat Hogemkamp and Ozgen respectively tomorrow, then I'll definitely look to go to the semi final on Saturday as that is a match that would really interest me, but any other combo then I'd probably just watch on a stream. I guess if Emma, Sam, Jack etc. all made it then I could be tempted, but I'll see what happens tomorrow.

I'm not watching but counting on the momentum live scores graph Sam saved 4 SPs during the TB there to win the first set 7-6(7).
She always seemed to be playing catch up in the set and was 1-5 down early in the TB too. I did not expect her to win it!
