Week 8 - ITF (W25) Sunderland, GBR Hard

Got to say that Kostova played a really daft game when they resumed.

But great to see Emma seems OK.

She may have stayed down simply because her coach told her, if you feel a twinge, go down immediately, and let someone assess you first before you move. It's common for coaches to say that, just to be ultra safe.

Yes she went down as though pole-axed. My immediate thought was oh no not again... but when she eventually got up and walked back to her chair, she scarcely limped... so maybe it was just cramp or something...

She played brilliantly though, she really does have the whole package, including a handy serve with the MP being an ace...

Kostova is WR 195, Emma's play today was better than Gabi was playing when she got up to WR 160 a couple of years ago. Not to put Gabi down the way she was playing then, but just to say that Emma easily has top 100 potential for me, even with her current game, and she is still only 17 and a few months.

Tanysha has done well to level the match at 4-4

Better than that she has taken the first set 6-4

I suspect their is an issue with Adler. Tanysha was 4-1 down in the first set and has now won 9 on the bounce.

Emma is definitely top 100 material. I remember watching her 2 years ago at Manchester and she pushed Harriet really hard.
That was when Harriet made the big improvement when moving to train in Turkey.

Yes I'm surprised at how easily Tanysha has won that now. It was not on live stream so couldn't she how the match was being played - but that win has now given Tanysha 6 pts from this week which will lift her inside the top 1100 and a new CH.

Maybe. But Adler is not an amazing player. Even the bookies thought it would be quite close.

Anyway, very nice win for Tanysha  biggrin

Now, this is more like a home event !

Looking like a good day. 4-0 so far, with two in play.

Feels like the tournament for the next, next gen. Eva and Tanysha both through and now Emma plays Armani for a guaranteed British teenager in the semi-final. Wow!

Sorry I meant quarter final - getting a bit carried away there!!!

And a very routine win for Jodie, 3 & 2.

Never in any trouble.
