Week 7 - ITF (W25) Glasgow, GBR Hard

Emma is the 2/5 favourite

Katy is 4/9.

Sam is 1/2

So hopefully we get at least 2 of those through to extend the singles interest. A bit like the 2 yesterday, Ali is a significant outsider at 6/1, but hopefully she can give a good account of herself.

No upsets in the 5 singles matches yesterday, so Emma will face Ahn, if she comes through today.

Emma and Katy up first at 10am.

I was too focussed on future lists that I completely forgot about play starting here. Katy has dropped the first set, hopefully she can turn that around, but good to see Emma start well.

Emma has just taken the first set 6-2, with another break.

Sorry to put it in here but this is the main current thread.

In case anyone who follows the womens side hasn't seen it, we have re opened a process for determining the GB Player of the Month.

Aim is to have nominations based on events starting in a calendar month (eg in Feb from Monday 3rd Feb and through events starting Monday 24th Feb) and then once nominations are completed by month end, a poll to vote for the monthly winner will take place.

At year end, the monthly winners will go into an annual player of the year poll.

For January, it was determined by a few folks that based on winning a slam, Joe Salisbury would get the award (no poll as it was done retrospectively).

Here is a link to the thread

Ah man, while you don't like to see retirements, I thought it was for Benoit going off Google scores, that's grim. Hope she's OK. Hope she's also not injury prone as she's had a few mid match retirements now.

Now there is a medical time out at 0-40 on Katie's serve in the final set. No idea who it's for, but I'm not feeling positive.
