Mandy in the q draw this week. Just two rounds I think, and 8 qualifiers so Mandy is the top seed in her quadrant. I'm using this week's rankings as they're available now.

QR1: Amanda CARRERAS (GBR) [q7] 353 vs Alice RAME (FRA) 409/55 (CH:406 Nov 19)

This is the same first match Mandy had last week, except it was in the first round then. Mandy won 6-2 6-3

A second win over Alice for Mandy, but whilst the last gave her 5 pts this gives her none. She gets a 15 yr old for the 1 pt.

1pt to Mandy so far, but this won't serve as a counter. However she does have 1, 1 pt left in her counters, so if she wins her first round she will be net +5 (1+5)
For her first round she moves from a 15yr to a 16yr old WC and certainly for the 5 pts she could hardly ask for better.

If Mandy wins her R1 match and replaces that '1' she will then have the highest lowest 'best 16' counter of any British woman ( if you see what I mean ). Her 16th counter will then be '4'.

The only others with a 16th counter higher than '1' will be Heather and Naiktha each with '2'.

Be great if Mandy can manage some weeks of going really deep to add some bigger scores. Her current highest four are 19, 19, 18, 18 from four 25K SFs ( two from Q ).

I don't know about the falling iguanas, but the rain seems to be continuing in Florida... No matches were played yesterday and today the first matches back on court have all been interrupted again. Mandy's R32 match is 2nd on the schedule.

It appears that Mandy is going to get that "Friday feeling".

Albeit her R1 match is still to begin. Indeed most of the R1 matches are in that position or have been suspended.
