Weeks 3/4 - Australian Open, Melbourne (hard)

It has a nice covered stand on one side with tiered open seats below on both sides, so much more accommodating than the court Heather is playing on today I think.

He says he's fit. This match will test him big time.

The wind is making this match a bit of a lottery. No chance for drop shots.

I'm not sure what Evans can do here apart from reduce his error counts. Nishioka has him well worked out and is playing the conditions far better too. Picking Evans off at will really.

4-6 3-6

Well, Dan has once come back to win a best of 5 sets match, having lost the first 2 sets. 2 days ago!

Tennis abstract had that match well and truly predicted, I wonder what it is about Nishioka for Dan.

Singles over for the men on day 3. Gosh.

Good to see Dan saying he will re look at his schedule. He clearly has too many events in over this early part of the season and needs to get smarter.

Felgate probably missed from that perspective.  Anyone know who is coaching him currently?

As seagull says, there's absolutely no positives about the men's singles for the LTA this year.
