Weeks 3/4 - Australian Open, Melbourne (hard)

Yes, all cancelled on the outside courts. A very busy schedule for tomorrow now. Kyle is second match on Court 15, and Cam is fifth on the same court

Bah, hope you can go and find some British success, Julia.

I reckoned Kyle's match as a 50/50 chance. No great surprise at the moment even with Lajovic having his best results on clay. He seemed to be in pretty decent form in the ATP Cup on hard.

L128: Kyle Edmund WR 69 lost to (24) Dusan Lajovic (SRB) WR 27 (CH 23 Apr 19) by  7-6(7) 6-3 7-6(4)

Really needed to secure that first set having resumed at 5-2* up.

Well, I watched Dan lose the second set and then take the next three so that was pretty good experience. Id thought Kyle was up  when play was stopped and was surprised when I arrived to find him in a tie break. Id hoped he would repeat Dans success, but his opponent, very much loudly cheered on by his supporters didnt seem to tire at all. They were really really loud when Dan was playing yesterday (adjacent court).

Back in my hotel now, and  hope to get back later. Trying to overcome the jet lag. Love this quaint Melbourne suburb, and weather very kind today and air is good for all. Flying across Oz Sunday night got strong smoke smells actually through the ventilation system; really caught your throat. i imagine that is what it was like for players last week.

Great you're there, Julia,  hope you enjoy the experience. 4 Brits still to come in mens and womens today, hopefully someone will get a win later. Cam will probably be slight underdog but has a shout.

Lajovic is on form and tough. So dont fancy Kyle.

Cam is on a shocking run, so dont fancy Cam.

Just Dan I fear.

Kyle losing wasnt a surprise at all, lajovic has been on form and is a tough cookie. Kyle did well back end of last season but clearly is not there yet, losing that first set was very disappointing from 5-2 up.

Cam will have it tough later, hope dan doesn't prove to be our only winner.

Real shame/disappointment that Kyle didn't get that first set.

But didn't see any of it so no idea about the quality of the tennis overall.

Never been a huge fan of P-H Herbert's singles - it's pretty effective, of course, but can be rather awkward.

Hope Cam can move him around.

Trying to watch a bit of tennis on the Eurosport player this morning but can't find a stream for Cam's match. They seem to have one for just about every other court except him. Anyone on here managed to find it?

Thanks.  Having trouble finding Harriet too.  Matches which are long finished are still showing as live.  The Eurosport player is usually very good - but not today.
