Pride of place goes to young Hephzibah, of course, with her J5 title last week.

Into the top 1000 she goes

Worth mentioning that she is now the 4th best ranked player for her age.

(She is obviously GB's best 2007-er but is also now higher ranked than our 4 ranked 2006-ers)

Top 100 and major upward movers:

30/11/20

GIRLS

24 (=) Matilda Mutavdzic ('04)
83 (-1) Marni Banks

923 (+427) Hephzibah Oluwadare ('07)

Just to note that the only 3 2007ers ranked above Hephzibah have very good pedigree - 2 Czech girls (Brenda Fruhvirtova and Tereza Valentova) key to the country's success in TE events at under 12/14 level in the last two years and the Russian (Mirra Andreeva) who won the Junior Orange Bowl under 12 event last year - all players to keep an eye on.

Not really one to keep an eye on the Junior tournaments. However since a thread was started in the Individual Player Threads section on Hephzibah I popped over here/followed last weeks progress.
Just wondering what a ranking like 923 can normally be expected to enter. I see there are 5 categories of events J1-J5 what events would she be able to get a DA normally with that ranking and others with qualifying?

Should be good enough for direct entry into most (but not all) J4 and J5 events, and occasionally higher grade events in less popular places (eg this week's Kazakhstan J3).  Some, but not all, higher grade qualifying will be possible.  Note that there is a higher Grade - Grade JA - which covers Grand Slams (sadly the Australian 2021 Open has already been cancelled) and a smattering of other events, including next week's prestigious Orange Bowl.  If her ranking had been achieved a few weeks ago she would have only been a handful of places outside the current qualifying cut there (it has a larger qualifying draw than most of 48 )

Do we have any players at the Orange Bowl?

Looks like we have 4 boys main draw and 1 qualies, and 3 girls main draw and 2 qualies, plus 1 at alt 1. So 10 out of 80 (48
Main draw incl 16 qualifiers from a 48 qualies field. ). Good show it feels like for biggest event of year, probably, juniors wise, since Aussie open at least

Thanks for the reply! Very useful to get an understanding.

For the Orange Bowl, Nolan now into boys main draw, we have 5 in now.

ogunwale and kempster into girls qualies, Russell seems to have withdrawn. But 6 girls in total now in main and qualies.
