You're right. I see she withdrew today, along with Olivia Nicholls. Could possibly come down to Marni and Lily now, especially as Maia hasn't played much this year (and it's not inside).

An order of play is published for the British Tour womens Tier 1 on Friday

www.lta.org.uk/major-tennis-events/british-major-events/ltas-british-tour-event-series/event-guide/schedule--order-of-play/

I cant see the actual draw on the site, but it will no doubt be there somewhere

Cheers Jon. I'll likely be concentrating on the conclusion to the stghltc pro tour events with it being the last day of the group stages, but a couple of decent little matches there, Marni vs Holly possibly the standout, although I would favour the former.

I'm not as interested in the race for 5th or 6th in these groups, so I guess there could be some 'dead rubbers' (from my perspective) where I might prioritise the BT event instead.

Assuming they're all streamed, it'll be lovely to 'drop in' and see how some of them are playing.

I've always wanted to see Alicia Dudeney play, and never have, so looking forward to that. (NB I think that is yet ANOTHER typo on the LTA site.....)

Also, would like to see some of Erin and Emily Arb

And, yes, touching base with Indy, Holly Staff, and Millie B will be nice - I've never had any of them in my top 200 potential group but kids develop differently - and it's nice to keep tabs on young players, whatever their level anyway.

I'm not sure if the Weybridge event will have any effect, (surely the LTA could provide extra streams, epecially as this is an official tournament of theirs), but hopefully all courts will be streamed like last week, as the men's is a Premier this time, and feautres Norrie, so there should be plenty of general interest there, or certainly relatively anyway.

But yes, a few I haven't seen before either. I'm not sure if Indy and Millie are as promising as they once were considered a couple of years or so ago, but I don't think I've seen either play, so I may well drop in as well - I guess there's always the TV and laptop, ha.

Week 4 / Premier Event acceptance list seems strong , some of the top players would also likely be on the SGH list for that week (I think SGH's Wk 3) , so it would be interesting to see which event they go for - the Premier Event or the SGH Pro-series. From what I've gathered so far the Pro-Series seems to offer more financial incentive - so that might be a determining factor in which event they play or withdraw from

Of course, the benefit of the SGH Pro Series is that if a player wins that week or gets decent points, they also set themselves in good stead to qualify for the Classic/Masters week 6...so a sort of double whammy.

Shame the British Tour wasnt able to perhaps put a bonus in place for top player of the 4 weeks British Tour summer series, although perhaps that isnt the aim of the game, it is just providing decent opportunities...

They can obviously please themselves as to what works best for them, regarding schedule, potentially 'keeping in' with the LTA etc. but I personally hope a fair few withdraw from that BT event and play SGH. Although it is just after the Progress Tour event, so maybe a few will have that in mind - a Thursday start is a lot more generous than a Monday start, directly after a reasonably high profile event, covered by the BBC.

It will indeed be a pretty strong BT event if the majority holds together.

If the acceptance criteria for the SGH is based on ranking , there might the same entries for the whole 5 , potentially 6 weeks, with maybe only the token WC here and there

It is actually a shame that none of these events are in the North. A venue like Ilkley could do hardcourts, indoor and grass, presumably others also.

In fact, I also would have loved it if one of these events, British Tour maybe, could have done something with a variety of surfaces - eg 4 weeks with a run of indoor hard, clay, grass and outdoor hard over the 4 weeks would have been interesting. realise weather is a large part of it, and SGH with the betting money might have struggled, but a series of events (and it is summer after all) at say somewhere like Queens (who have grass, clay, indoor) or NTC (who have all surfaces, perhaps not grass, but then we have BoE club in roehampton?) would have mixed it up very nicely, and perhaps bought some variety to the mix.

Ive often thought at a Tour level, I would love to see a series of events over a few weeks across the surfaces, with Fed, Djoko, Nadal, Andy and a few others from the top 8/10 and see who comes off as the best over that series of events. Will never happen, of course

Week 2 entry for SGH is much different because of direct clash with Progress Tour. Only two from this week will be at SGH next week
