Any chance of an 'Other' option?

Let's include that plus "didn't vote" and "spoilrd ballot paper" and separating SNP and Plaid Cymru in a "How did you vote?" poll after the polls close.

Add: won't be surprised at something like a Blair-ish landslide for the Tories, despite the polling (our polling is uniformly awful and outdated)..

Perhaps not far off right with this.

Corbyn probably won't end up anywhere near as bad as Hague or Howard did in 2001 & 2005 - who both were far worse than Foot ever did, and look at the Tories now.

A lot of people might have used this as a single issue vote to get Brexit through, thinking they can reign them in next time. If so, those voters have a rude awakening coming, as the power grab to ensure 20 more years at least of Tory rule will begin tonight.

But, congratulations to voters who believe in Boris, and I hope that I am wrong, and whatever you want from him he delivers. I won't like it, but the electorate have spoken, and I respect that I am in the minority, and the will of the people must always be done.

For me, I can now mull over in earnest offers from Canada, Japan and New Zealand for my services, benefit of being in a very small, niche field, and very glad to have the options to leave it all behind. Were this the 17th Century, or there anywhere left yet unclaimed in this age where you could go and start anew, I'd similarly be doing that.

UK exit polling is bad, so will still stay up to see the gory details though.

Gawd, if and when Scotland has Independence Referendum 2, depending on the UK political landscape then and expectations going forward ( including relationships with other nations ), I might have to actually think about it.

Proud of being Scottish, I have always been British to the core beyond that, fundamentally I thought. But the UK has been so changing ...

Tories taken Blyth Valley, I think that says it all really.

For my family I will stick around. But my daughter may be heading to Uni in Edinburgh next year and, if the SNP can get somewhere with a new independence vote, that may well be a place to look at moving to!

But, as Labour only held Houghton and Sunderland South by 3k votes, amd the Tory+Brexit Partruy totak would've won it.
And now Blyth Valley lost to the Tories.

Exit poll probably underselling the landslide then Tories could get ~420 seats if those margins hold up.

Blyth Valley in Tory control!

That's all I need to see, at least no need to stay up now. another generation of Tory rule it is, there's no coming back for any other party, for at least a generation. Game Over.

It will be a no-deal Brexit.

things can change. We are in times of populism, Labour got there with Blair until they messed it up over Iraq. Labour will need to spend a few years sorting themselves out and finding direction, it may be Lib Dems need to give way to a new more popular middle ground - and even Farage is talking about proportional representation needing to come in.

It will be hunker down for 5 years but things can change.

One commentator said that if the majority is big enough, Boris can ditch the rees-moggs of the world and not need to be so extreme. Maybe a silver lining will come from that.

Dont believe that. Boris doesnt need the extreme right guys now. He has enough to get it through on his own terms. He isnt stupid, Boris wants to be the next thatcher and that means longevity

Except Boris is FAR more extreme than JRM. JRM just says his schtick in that deliberately trolling, dismissive, privileged manner.
Boris went to see Steve Bannon under his own steam. See the stuff he commissioned and wrote at the Spectator. The floppy fringe and bumbling don't hide the venality of his entire career. But, we are in a world where populist strongmen are what the people want, so Boris fits the mould.

The difference now is the rapacity and desire to smash dissenting opinion utterly and for evermore that embodies the global tsunami of nationalism. Duterte, Bolsonaro, Orban, Erdogan etc are the templates, and now we have chosen ours.

that feels like you are saying democracy is in danger...do you believe that...

Nationalism worries me,a lot, and I do fear that direction enormously

Yes, I don't think Boris is fundamentally a hard Brxiteer, he's actually not fundanentally that msny things apart from being opportunist in pursuit of Boris advancement.

Being a big player in the Brexit bandwagon, and supposedly hard Brexit, has served its purpose. I fully expect at least some pragmatism and a deal.
