I think we may have a new superstar on our hands judging by what I am watching at the moment.
Rana Stoiber.

Ranah is the one we've posted a lot about due to her connections with the head of French Connection. A lot of hope for her. From the LTA and elsewhere.

(She lost in R1 last week in the J5, against another 2005-born girl) but that's a blip)

She's at the Loughborough elite Academy now.

Lots of Loughborough players here. Joss Rae is here as one of the coaches.
Kylie Bilchev (Another L'boro) is on court now.
Rana was hitting winners from all over the place. 4 or 5 aces and hardly missed a shot from game 3 to 10.
Another excellent performance from Given Roach as well
Tabitha Holmes, with George Coupland as coach, looks quite talented.

Kylie won in 3.
Groundshots were good. Serve struggled, but she is talented.

Not a great day, with only 6 British girls through to the last 16.

However, of those 6, four are born in 2005, which is pretty encouraging.

Nice to hear the courtside comments, paulisi.

The one I missed is the enigma that is Hannah Smith.
She has a massive serve, she can serve and volley and she can play from the back of the court.
If she could get it all together and cut out all the error(there were lots) she would fly up the rankings.
Sophyia Deyas - looks a lot older than 13.....I thought she was one of the coaches....She had treatment in the first set, but is talented

Yes, I've mentioned Hannah as one of those who 'will grow into' her game - it's an adult sort of game, you don't always get much reward for it at junior level.

Interesting to hear about Sophya - never seen her. As a 2006-er, it certainly makes her interesting.

Another good win for Rana, but Kristina retired and Ella lost comfortably.

The ITF site says Ella won - have they got it back to front, again ? :(

Wins for Given, Kylie and Jaquelyn as well. So not a bad day at all.
Jaquelyn has the top seed, who wasn't too impressive when beating Bella Moen

Shout out to Anna McBride, who never gets a mention on here, but took a chance and signed in for doubles. Found a partner, sneaked into the main draw and gave Millie and Sophya a match.
