Goffin falls to Dimitrov and so departs the race, there are now just 5 challengers beyond the top 2. The final 5 are indeed long shots, hard to see any of them qualifying realistically. One of RBA and AdM will fall today also. Monfils is in action now, as is Stan W, Schwartzman plays Kyle later.
7 Alexander Zverev GER 2945 (will qualify if reaches final). Into last 16.
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2670 (will qualify if reaches final). Plays Tsonga on Wednesday in Last 32.
9 Roberto Bautista Agut ESP 2540 (must reach Paris QF; will qualify with title). Plays de Minaur on Wednesday in Last 32, one of those two will therefore be out of the running.
10 Gael Monfils FRA 2360 must reach Paris SF; will qualify with title). Plays Paire on Wednesday in Last 32.
14 Diego Schwartzman ARG 2125 (must reach Paris Final, Kyle up next)
15 Stan Wawrinka SUI2 1920 (must win Paris). Plays Cilic on Wednesday in Last 32.
18 Alex de Minaur AUS 1730 (must win Paris). Plays Bautista-Agut on Wednesday in Last 32, one of those two will therefore be out of the running.
Really I feel its between Zverev and Berrettini. Everyone else is an outsider
They're both currently in line to make it, 7th and 8th. Zverev looks pretty good at the moment, really can't see 2 passing him, but Berrettini possibly needs one more win, onbiously more if one of the rivals below does really well this week.
I'm hoping De Minaur beats RBA next, and then I won't be as fussed as while I'd like Berrettini to make it, I quite like the others in most realistic contention.
Berrettini would be good to see. He is now dating Ajla Tomljanovic (who dated Nick Kygrios for quite some time)

Monfils gets a win and adds to his tally although he still needs a massive week
7 Alexander Zverev GER 2945 (will qualify if reaches final). Into last 16.
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2670 (will qualify if reaches final). Plays Tsonga on Wednesday in Last 32.
9 Roberto Bautista Agut ESP 2540 (must reach Paris QF; will qualify with title). Plays de Minaur on Wednesday in Last 32, one of those two will therefore be out of the running.
10 Gael Monfils FRA 2440 (must reach Paris SF; will qualify with title). Into last 16
14 Diego Schwartzman ARG 2125 (must reach Paris Final, Kyle up next).
Stan W gets a win and stays alive. Just Schwartzman (playing kyle now!) and Berrettini playing tonight now. MB, if he wins, will also put AdM out of the running
7 Alexander Zverev GER 2945 (will qualify if reaches final). Into last 16.
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2670 (will qualify if reaches final). Plays Tsonga on Wednesday in Last 32.
10 Gael Monfils FRA 2440 (must reach Paris SF; will qualify with title). Into last 16
14 Diego Schwartzman ARG 2125 (must reach Paris Final, Kyle up next).
15 Stan Wawrinka SUI2 2000 (must win Paris). Into last 16.
18 Alex de Minaur AUS 1775 (must win Paris). Into last 16.
Berrettini out (of Paris). ADM and Stan could still have a say, but I think more realistically, it will come down to whether Monfils can beat Albot and then the Shapo/Zverev winner to reach the SF and pass Matteo along the way. I was hoping Berrettini would make it, but there is plenty of youth involved, and if Gael does qualify then it will mean he is coming in with some form, and he can be exciting on his day.
Plus, there's always a chance Matteo will get in regardless, whether that be a big 3 pre tournament withdrawal, or replacing someone early like what Bertens did in Shenzhen.
Granollers and Zeballos lost today to Jamie and Neal and so Race for last doubles place is down to Bryans, Dodig and Polasek , and Chardy and Martin (who need to win the event)
In singles, De Minaur loses and so departs the race leaving 3 players for the last place
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2670 OUT OF PARIS
10 Gael Monfils FRA 2440 (must reach Paris SF to pass Berrettini, will definitely qualify with reaching Final). Into last 16
15 Stan Wawrinka SUI2 2000 (must win Paris to pass Berrettini and hope Monfils doesnt reach final). Into last 16.
Monfils is 4-1 up now final set. A head off with Shapo would attract. Looks like Paris schedule tomorrow has Monfils v Shapo as prime slot, but if Monfils loses then they are swapping in Nadal v Tsonga, followed by Shapo v Albot. If Monfils wins, then the line up of Monfils v Shapo and Nadal v Tsonga seems like a dream ticket. Id pay to watch that evening of tennis.
