Is Isner even playing Paris? I was under the impression his season was over (his wife just had a baby)

I am sure it will end up that way but, unlike others such as Nishikori and Pouille who have withdrawn, he still appears on the two entry list sites that I have seen at the moment

PS no idea why there is a strange blue face appearing in the link but heh!

In theory at least , these are the players still able to take one of the last two places in London. 14 players in theory at least. The last few need to keep going in play this week and at least get to within distance of Berrettini so that an unlikely Paris win would give them a chance to qualify. Realistically, Isner needs to win Paris as well and hope results go his way, unlikely after time out and assuming he doesnt withdraw from Paris. Wawrinka also probably needs a Paris win and after pulling out to Federer today, playing in Paris must be a doubt.

7 Alexander Zverev GER 2855
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2570 in Vienna
9 Roberto Bautista Agut ESP 2530 in Basle
10 David Goffin BEL 2325
11 Fabio Fognini ITA 2280
12 Gaël Monfils FRA 2260 in Vienna

14 Stan Wawrinka SUI2 1910
15 Diego Schwartzman ARG 1905 in Vienna
16 Karen Khachanov RUS 1830 in Vienna
17 John Isner USA 1760

20 Andrey Rublev RUS 1574 in Vienna

23 Alex de Minaur AUS 1475 in Basle

26 Pablo Carreņo Busta ESP 1410 in Vienna

33 Reilly Opelka USA 1253 in Basle

The win for Berrettini over Rublev just now takes Rublev out of the equation. Opelka also drops out with that win. It also means that Wawrinka and (if he plays) Isner has to win Paris to have any chance of qualifying. As mentioned, both look unlikely at the moment. De Minaur, Carreno-Busta  will also fall out of the running if they lose today.

7 Alexander Zverev GER 2855
8 Matteo Berrettini ITA 2660 in Vienna
9 Roberto Bautista Agut ESP 2530 in Basle
10 David Goffin BEL 2325

12 Gaël Monfils FRA 2260 in Vienna

14 Stan Wawrinka SUI2 1910
15 Diego Schwartzman ARG 1905 in Vienna
16 Karen Khachanov RUS 1830 in Vienna
17 John Isner USA 1760

In the Doubles Race, 5 spots are now taken (Herbert and Mahut got in via the Grand Slam winners route)

Therefore the teams left chasing 3 places are just 7. Not sure if Bryans will play but assuming they do, then Joe and Rajeev look very well placed at the moment. That said, they will enter Vienna final as underdogs and have a tough first round match in Paris.

5 Rojer/Tecau 3385 Basel F Could reach 3585 if they win Basel
6 Bryan/Bryan 3380
7 Ram/Salisbury 3290 Vienna F Could reach 3490 if they win Vienna. Vienna win would make it almost certain.
8 Kontinen/Peers 3000 Need to reach Paris SF to overtake Joe and Rajeev, assuming Joe and Rajeev lose first round or dont win Vienna.
9 Dodig/Polasek 2865 Need to reach Paris F to overtake Joe and Rajeev.
10 Chardy/Martin 2420 Need to win Paris to overtake Joe and Rajeev. If Joe and Rajeev win Vienna they are out of it.
11 Granollers/Zeballos 2380 Need to win Paris to overtake Joe and Rajeev. If Joe and Rajeev win Vienna they are out of it it.

These are the last ones in the running. Zverev is probably safe in reality, Berrettini needs the others to put in very strong weeks to deny him. Hard to see De Minaur, Isner winning Paris, Khachanoiv did it last year but odds against him, and Stan hasnt won in a long while. Fognini reaching final is unlikely, Goffin and Monfils reaching the semis is probably a little more possible and RBA reaching the last 8 indoors, that also seems less than likely.

So, with 1 place in the Doubles field left, the standings are for the 4 that can grab that spot:

7 Bryan/Bryan 3380

9 Dodig/Polasek 2955 (need to reach final to qualify). Into last 16 and play Melzer/Roger-Vasellin

11 Chardy/Martin 2420 ( need to win title to qualify). Bye into Last 16 due to opponents pulling out and no alternates being placed; now play Sharan / Sitak in last 16, also alternates. Getting rub of draw!

12 Granollers/Zeballos 2380 (need to win title to qualify and in fact be equal with Bryans. Presumably qualify on countback ie less events played). Play Rojer/Tecau on Wednesday in Last 32.

They're both currently in line to make it, 7th and 8th. Zverev looks pretty good at the moment, really can't see 2 passing him, but Berrettini possibly needs one more win, onbiously more if one of the rivals below does really well this week.

I'm hoping De Minaur beats RBA next, and then I won't be as fussed as while I'd like Berrettini to make it, I quite like the others in most realistic contention.
