Watson has sneaked into Wuhan quals as the current final entrant, However, Venus has taken a Top 20 WC (along with Osaka), so I think that has ended any hopes that Konta will play there, and probably her hopes of competing at the WTA Finals.
Because that's just the official term and is valid for those who finished 11-20 in 2018, as well as past Grand Slam Champions, past WTA Finals winners, past PM champs (so Konta would have been eligible), and for world number 1s (Venus ticks every other box). There's 2 per tournament for P5s (which are both taken), so the only way in would be a discretionary WC from the tournament, and taking one away from a home player, so I can't see that happening.
Harriet has posted a pic from Tashkent. I can't find any qualifying lists yet but I assume she is in qualifying. It's the final edition of this tournament (licence has gone to Lyon from 2020), and it's not the strongest field, no top 50 player, and the cut off is currently at 124.
Naomi is on the entry list for doubles in Tashkent with Rosalie van der Hoek of Holland
Emily and Sofia are 6th alt on the doubles E/L for Wuhan
Looks like Emily is back at home in England - so may be going to Portugal after all. Currently at Q7 on the acceptance list. Eden is at Q3, so might get into the main draw after all.
There's mega good points to be had for the Brits at Shrewsbury.
The quali draw is 100% GB (which always helps )
And the MD has lots of Brits outside the top 1000, all as direct entrants.
I remember Shrewsbury being a really weak draw before - I think it's because it's tricky to get to - I think it's brilliant - they should have more events there !
